Streetbar celebrated its 25th Anniversary<br />
from August 22nd through August 27th with<br />
top shelf drink specials, prize give-aways<br />
and entertainment. On August 25th, the valley’s<br />
favorite country singing star Brian Scott<br />
performed with Mona Caywood as his special<br />
guest. As the longest operating bar serving<br />
the Coachella Valley LGBT community,<br />
Streetbar opened in 1991. It is owned by<br />
Dick Haskamp and was the first Gay business<br />
on Arenas Road. The bar is highly<br />
regarded for its ongoing volunteer and financial<br />
support of many local non-profit organizations<br />
such as The LGBT Center, Palm<br />
Springs Animal Shelter, Cinema Diverse,<br />
Greater Palm Spring Pride and the Palm<br />
Springs Gay Rodeo Association, among others.<br />
