FROM THE
EDITOR
My month
in pictures
October is such an exciting month, it’s finally time to purchase
your autumn wardrobe at long last. Although the shops have
their woollies in from August, it just doesn’t seem right to
purchase when you haven’t even said goodbye to your bikini! I
have my eye on anything velvet, suede and ideally in berry and
brown. Another wardrobe item which needs winterising is my
running kit. It’s only recently (during the summer months) that
I have found a fondness for the sport. Now the temperature
has dropped, it will be time to put the shorts away and invest
in more appropriate attire in time for my next half marathon.
Anyone who enjoys running should check out Positive Steps
events, who put on some fab courses varying from coastal to
forest trail runs.
AND READY TO GO
Having opened last month, The Tack Room:
Food by The Pantry, the National Heritage Centre for
Horseracing & Sporting Art’s restaurant/café, is
already proving to be a popular spot here in Newmarket
Serving traditional British food using the very best of our region’s produce,
Tack Room welcome a wine and cocktail bar with a menu centred upon fresh
fish and seafood. They have the capacity to sit up to 72 with additional space
outside on their terrace courtyard which once housed Charles II’s horses!
“Vincent and I are absolutely delighted to have been selected to run the café/
restaurant at Palace House. As owners of The Pantry in Newmarket which is
soon to celebrate its fifth birthday, we are looking forward to a new challenge,”
Ann-Marie Woolley, Co-Owner of The Pantry explained. Alongside The
Tack Room, there is also a brand new bakery and deli onsite. From freshly
baked breads and cakes to takeaway sandwiches and salads, they also have an
extensive range of teas, coffees and other drinks. Both the bakery and deli will
also bring a selection of gluten and dairy free goodies as well as foodie delights
suitable for both vegan and vegetarian customers. You’ll also be pleased to hear
that it’s open for all, not just Heritage Centre ticket holders...
Chocolate Week
10th - 16th
October
National Chocolate Week
Now we don’t usually need a reason to get excited about chocolate, but it appears this
month we can indulge for a whole week... It’s a national celebration after all!
Hotel Chocolat have even told us that chocolate has been scientifically proven to be
good for your health... Did you know premium chocolate has more antioxidants than
a glass of red wine and 2 to 3 times more antioxidants than green tea! Chocolate also
contains chemical substances known as endorphins which have a stimulating effect on
the brain!
Great news! Hotel Chocolat is coming to Bury St Edmunds at the end of this month!
PERFECT PUMPKIN
Pumpkins aren’t just great for
carving at halloween...
...They are in fact jam-packed with vitamins and minerals such
as iron, magnesium and Vitamins A, C, E and B6. Not only this,
pumpkins are also very low in saturated fat and cholesterol. Once
you’ve carved your masterpiece, be sure to use the rest of it too!
CRISPS AND SEEDS
“Pumpkin and winter squash is coming into
season. Pumpkin is a fantastic, versatile
vegetable. For this dish, we’ve used every part
of the pumpkin - the skin to make crisps, raw
cubes compressed in maple and lemon, seeds
and the flesh to make a delicious saag aloo.
Pumpkins and squashes can handle spice so
don’t be afraid to experiment with them,” James
Carn, Head Chef at The Packhorse Inn tells us.
PUMPKIN, BUTTERNUT SQUASH
AND AVOCADO SALAD
“We love to use seasonal ingredients and
at the moment, we have an abundance
of pumpkin and other colourful squash.
Pumpkin is full of dietry fibre, vitamins
and minerals and is a real superfood!
October is the month we see lots of
waste after the traditional pumpkin
carving. We hope you can consider
making full use of the pumpkin before
you discard it. The waste can turn into
a surprisingly tasty and healthy dish
in minutes!” Founder and Co-owner,
PUMPKIN AND THYME MUFFINS
“Made with wholegrain spelt flour, fresh
thyme and seasonal pumpkin, these
muffins pack a punch! They are high
in fibre so are filling, and with all those
nutritious minerals and vitamins in the
pumpkin, they also boost vision, lower
blood pressure and aid sleep.” Sally
Food
Exploring
VEGAN DELIGHTS
Alex Higgs, of food and lifestyle blog Bone White China and co-organiser
of Ely Markets Vegan Fair, talks to us about its upcoming event
Once side-lined as a foodie niche, vegan food is now booming, with
interesting and exciting producers and street food vendors popping
up every week. No longer ‘just for vegans’, its appeal is broadening,
thanks to the rise of vegan comfort food such as Food by Lizzi’s
‘Vegan Scotch Eggless’ and sweet treats such as Audrey’s vegan
cakes.
“From the start, it was really important to me to show people that
vegan cakes could taste as good, if not better, than traditional
dairy-based cakes… I love it when customers don’t actually realise
that my cakes are completely vegan until I tell them, and they’re
amazed at how good they are. I have regular customers who love my
baking regardless of it being vegan, and I like to think that by giving
them delicious animal-free food, it might make them think about
making further changes in their diet and stepping away from animal
products,” Audrey Hewerdine, of Audrey’s Vegan Cake, tells us.
It’s not just the rise of innovative producers that is championing
this change, it’s also how easy it is to discover and find them, as
Iain of Replete Flatbreads puts it... “The use of social media such as
Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, has really connected the vegan
and vegetarian communities. This is especially the case on Ely
Farmers Market, where the hashtag #VeganAlley has united several
of the producers and boosted trade for the market.”
Ely Markets are celebrating this boom in Vegan traders by
launching the Ely Vegan Fair. “We are really looking forward to our
first Ely Markets Vegan Fair complementing our regular weekly
markets and know that our visitors will find loads of delicious food
and unique products to sample!” Julia Davis of Ely Markets tells us.
“Our vegan offering is just part of the fantastic variety of stalls we
have on our markets every week! The Vegan Fair is the first of our
special events on Ely Markets showcasing the diverse choice for all
tastes we have all year round.”
Expect familiar faces alongside regional and national vegan traders,
a vegan and organic bar, plus really exciting street food including
Cambridge Food and Drink Award-Winner, The Wandering Yak.
This family-friendly day is for vegans, the V-curious and lovers of
good food alike, so make sure you go and discover what all the fuss
is about! The #ElyVeganFair is on Saturday 29th October and will
be hosted along the High Street from 9am-3pm.
Search ‘Ely Markets Vegan Fair’ on Facebook
or follow @ElyMarkets on Twitter for stall
announcements and fringe events.
Josh Widdicombe
A Room with a view
Josh is back with his brand new stand-up tour, ‘What Do I Do Now’,
ready to tell you all about all those minor things which annoy him.
Nominated for various awards including a British Comedy Award
and a Broadcast Award, Josh has finally won one at the Royal
Television Society Awards. He has appeared on Insert Name Here,
Mock the Week and QI (BBC2), Michael McIntyre’s BIG Show,
Live at the Apollo and Have I Got News for You (BBC1) and The
Jonathan Ross Show (ITV1).
Whilst on holiday in Italy with her cousin Charlotte Bartlett, English
rose Lucy Honeychurch, free of the class-ridden constraints of
English society, indulges in an unacceptable romantic fling with
the unsuitable, lower-class George Emerson. Whisked back to her
family’s Surrey estate, Lucy becomes engaged to the suitable but
priggish Cecil Vyse. How will she react when she finds that none
other than the Emersons have taken a house in the nearby village?
Based on E.M. Forster’s 1908 comedy, this production stars
Felicity Kendal (The Good Life) as Lucy’s prim cousin Charlotte,
with Charlie Anson, Tom Morley and Lauren Coe.
Midge Ure
From Ultravox, Thin Lizzy and Rich Kids to Band Aid (1984) and
Live 8 (2005); from his more recent career as a soloist in ‘Gift’,
(1985) ‘Pure’ (1991) and ‘Answers to Nothing’ (1998), to his
work as a writer and producer, Midge Ure has been a colossus
of British music over the last 40 years.
Shows in this ‘Something From Everything Tour’ will touch on
the broad reach of Midge’s recorded output, with at least one
song from each of his albums, and will repeat last year’s tour’s
successful three-piece format, when Midge appeared with
semi-acoustic duo, India Electric Company (Cole Stacey and
Joseph O’Keefe).
LOOK OUT
Article by Josh Tait
Keep your eyes peeled for our line up of must-see films,
up-and-coming musicians and the next big thing...
DAREDEVIL: SERIES ONE
Creator: Drew Goddard
Stars: Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll
Release Date: 3rd October
For those who haven’t caught the first Netflix exclusive Marvel
series, this month sees Daredevil hit the small screen. Although he
might wear red, this superhero has more in common with Batman
than Spider-Man or Superman, and his adventures veer towards
the grim and gritty end of the spectrum. Series one follows blind
lawyer Matt Murdoch as he attempts to balance his budding law
firm with a crimefighting career that brings him into conflict with
the larger than life Kingpin of crime.
T2: TRAINSPOTTING
Director: Danny Boyle
Stars: Ewan McGregor, Robert Carlyle, Jonny Lee Miller
Release Date: January 2017
Although 2017 might seem a million miles away now, next year
kicks off with the hotly anticipated sequel to one of the best British
films of this generation. The oddly titled ‘T2’, sees the cast of
Trainspotting reunite for a loose adaptation of Irvine Welsh’s 2002
sequel ‘Porno’. With Danny Boyle returning as director too, the
stage seems set for a reprise of the mucky, quirky and inventive
charm of its predecessor.
KINGS OF LEON:
We Are Like
Love Songs
No one can dispute
the ubiquitous appeal
of tracks like Use
Somebody and Sex On
Fire, but some would
say that the Tennessee
four piece have lost
some of their edge since
2008’s Only By The
Night. Those hoping
for a return to the
more raw style of their
first three albums will
be disappointed. Lead
single Waste A Moment
is a slick, infectious
slice of anthemic rock
n roll though, and this
is a band who deserve
plaudits for developing
their sound, even if it
comes at the expense
of the bluesier rock of
their debut.
all its autumnal glory with a
Scudamore’s College Backs
Punting Tour
The summer may be over, but the beauty of autumn is just about to
begin. There are few sights more stunning than October’s explosion
of a thousand shades of orange, gold and brown along the banks of
the River Cam.
In fact, autumn is arguably the most beautiful season of the
year, with clear air, crisp visibility and fascinating light. So what
better time to admire the grandeur of Cambridge’s world-famous
colleges?
Be inspired
The Scudamore’s College Backs Punting Tour takes you on a
journey through some of the most significant academic history in
the world, all explained by your very own expert tour guide.
Marvel at the Mathematical Bridge, be inspired by King’s College
and find romance in Lovers’ Lane, all framed beautifully by the
wonderful colours of autumn.
Get involved
The award-winning 45-minute group tours depart daily from 9am
every 15-20 minutes and can be joined on a walk-up basis only.
Alternatively, if you’re looking for the exclusivity of your very
own punt, private tours are also available. These can be booked in
advance for your preferred time and will enable you to bypass the
shared tour queue.
So whether you’re a first time visitor to the beautiful City of
Cambridge, or a life-long resident, take advantage of this fantastic
opportunity to see this famous stretch of river in a different and
ever-more beautiful light.
Worried it might be too cold?
A wise Scandinavian once said: “There is no such thing as bad
weather, only bad clothes”, and for this reason, Scudamore’s makes
sure you’re prepared.
The autumn tours all include a complimentary blanket for you to
wrap yourself up in and stay cosy. Not only that, you will also have
the use of an umbrella to keep off any rain. Why not bring along a
hot cup of coffee, or better still, a beautifully warming mulled wine?
Art
Unequalled
Exhibition
22nd & 23rd
October
AN ABSTRACT
ARRAY OF ART
October once again welcomes the Art Unequalled
Exhibition to Ely and, as always, there’s a lot on offer
Returning for its sixth year on 22nd and
23rd October, Art Unequalled is bringing a
strong collection of high quality artwork to
this historic city. If you’ve missed previous
years, Art Unequalled has gained a strong
reputation for bringing exceptional artwork
from across the UK and this year’s exhibitor
list will certainly not disappoint!
“We have carefully selected all of the
exhibitors once again, to ensure that all
those participating really are some of the
best in their field. There will be lots of
extremely high quality pieces on offer,
with items to suit all budgets, which
will be presented directly by the artists
themselves,” founder and artist, Sally
Dunham tells us. Not only will you be able
to see a range of paintings, ceramics, glass,
sculpture, textiles, furniture, jewellery,
woodwork, and print from over 40
exhibitors, there will also be a chance for
you to see artists demonstrating their work
first hand. Alongside this, the exhibitors will
of course be more than happy to discuss
their ideas and inspirations with you, as
well as perhaps generating ideas for a
personalised bespoke piece which can be
constructed at a later date.
“I’ve had many years’ experience exhibiting
at various shows up and down the country,
so I’ve really focused on ensuring that the
quality of artwork on display is at the very
best it can be. I’ve also promised visitors
that everything on display will have been
handmade by the artists themselves, as
there will be no brought in goods allowed.
It’s set to be a great event where I hope to
make artwork more accessible to everyone,”
explains Sally.
A great event to find something unique
for yourself, your home or a loved one or
maybe to start your Christmas shopping!
Once again held at The Maltings on Ely’s
picturesque riverside, this event is one not
to be missed.
DUBAI FUTURE CHAMPIONS
FESTIVAL: AUTUMN LADIES DAY
The Velvet girls are back to help select the best dressed lady
from the Dubai Future Champions Festival
Taking place on the 7th of October at Newmarket Racecourses’, Rowley Mile, the winning
lady will not only take home the coveted title, but thousands of poundsworth of prizes too.
We round up the key looks which will have you race-day ready:
Oscar de la Renta
1. Pinstripe Suits
It’s the 90s craze again, but re-invigorated with wide leg trousers
and boyfriend cut blazer - a perfect combo that can be dressed up
or down, be worn together or as separates. As seen at Calvin Klein
and Max Mara.
2. Statement Furs
Be prepared for all eyes to be on you, as this season’s furs are
show-stopping. Think striped, ombre and patchwork. If you’re going
for this look, wear everything else as plain as can be. As seen at
Fendi and Oscar de la Renta.
3. Pink and Yellow
An interesting colour combo which is refreshing amongst the berry
and navy shades which usually dictate the autumn colour palette. If
you’re not sure, block colour one shade, and accessorise subtly with
the other. As seen at Delpozo and Sies Marjan.
Calvin Klein
4. Embellished Gloves
Gloves will become distinctively impractical this season, so where
better to wear your tasselled, studded, metal-clad and embroidered
gloves than the races? As seen at Marc Jacobs and Prada.
Oscar de la Renta
Gemma, Editor of Velvet Magazine
“Race-day fashion tends not to follow the catwalk trends in their
entirety, as there are many rules of etiquette still in play when it
comes to suitable racing attire. The most stylish ladies will offer
a subtle nod to a favourite trend, and this year I feel we will see
many statement furs, bell sleeves, chokers and 70s inspired
platform shoes and boots.
Autumn is a great season fashion-wise, I find it so much easier
than summer. You know you will need a coat, tights and full shoes so there is no second
guessing the weather as you do in summer.
That being said, hats do need to edge on the practical side, so don’t be tempted by the
fabulous structural masterpieces available. One gust of wind and they’re gone, along with your
lovely coiffered hairstyle! As with every season, certain trends don’t work for a day at the races,
so leave behind your puffa jackets, PVC, tinsel tops and 90s sports hoodies. So cool, but really
not appropriate attire for the Premier Enclosure!”
AW16 will be defined by its liberal, bountiful, lavish and indulgent
feel. Any other charitable synonyms are more than welcome
to set the tone to this overwhelming affluence of fabric drama.
Be ready to bow down to gleaming silks, leather galore, opulent
velvets and our least-loved sequins, all in the most exciting
colours, ranging from plum purple to bright pink and warm
ochres.
As achingly low key as we aspire to be, the truth is that, this
winter, we have a chance to play with sumptuous looks without
feeling over the top or too eccentric. By all means, Gucci is still
teasing us with its mad appliqués, sequins and flowers, but we do
not need to feel cornered by such eccentric statement pieces,
and may instead choose to slip into a rich velvet cocoon without
feeling out of date or frumpy in any way or form…
Why not happily embrace this very permissive mood? Make
certain that your new signature look constantly inspires you to
have fun without defining your outfit to any specific occasion.
Nightwear is acceptable on a lunch date just as much as your
new seductive leopard print dress will be admired in the office…
It is your moment to set the tone and to do so confidently, as
both gluttony and voluptuousness are welcome at any given
chance. As always, embrace being happy in your skin, focus on
your mood rather than the occasion and don’t think twice. The
stigma that a woman burdens herself with imploring she isn’t
accurately dressed if seen disrespecting a given dress code or a
pair of heels or a tailored jacket, is sooooo last season.
Give in and start embracing leopard, velvet, chains, military
and shiny leathers like never before! Lose sight of your specific
outfit, but rather, embrace your look with a new reinvented
style. It’s the demeanour that counts! I have rustled through
the fashion world and have handpicked a few goodies which will
salute the fashion-forward women we are, encouraging and
allowing us to embrace our globally admired flair and originality.
Preppy chic?
BLUE KNOWS BEST
Struggling for inspiration? Unsure what suits you?
Hear why you should probably be taking a trip to Saffron
Walden’s boutique, blue...
For over 17 years, blue has been the little independent, ‘ladies in the know’ visit when
they’re in Saffron Walden. blue has built a sizeable, loyal customer base with ladies visiting
from across the UK. We caught up with blue’s owner, Hayley Attridge, who sheds a little
light on her success so far. “My customers always tell me they love the little one-offs they
simply don’t find anywhere else. I choose timeless, easy to wear, pieces which can easily
be integrated into their wardrobes. Because of this, my ladies rarely leave empty handed!
I believe one of blue’s secrets is that I picture four key ladies when I buy collections. These
four ladies I call ‘Maggie, Mel, Emma and Megan’, and as I look at collections, I build each
look around these ladies.”
With its mixture of high street brands such as Sandwich and American Vintage, through to
the individual chic French labels like Des Petits Hauts and SET as well as coveted footwear
brands such as Ash, Hayley has ensured whichever lady you are, blue’s formula will have
something that suits you. blue will be showing its new seasonal collection and the ‘four
ladies’ at our forthcoming Velvet Fashion Show on Thursday 6th October so it’s certainly
worth coming along to see which look is for you...
Go with Megan
Megan loves the jewellery pieces. She
visits the boutique when she’s looking for
something special to wear, or a gift for a
friend. The little French frocks, tailored
shorts and skinny jeans catch her eye too.
Elegance with a twist?
Versatile with style?
Classy and sassy?
Try Mel
We suggest Emma
You’re Maggie
Mel loves classic, clean lines but usually
with a twist. She will wear a tailored jacket
with trainers, or a dress with ankle boots.
She loves fabrics like cashmere, cottons
and silks and will always have her capsule
wardrobe in mind when selecting outfits.
A biker jacket and butter soft cashmere
scarf is Mel to a tee.
Emma is busy. Maybe a young mum or
a career-driven woman. Her clothes
work hard for her, having comfort and
practicality but not at the expense
of style. She loves blue’s footwear
collections and will make sure she’s
stocked up on the latest Ash boots
and trainers.
Maggie’s style is classical, flawless and
easy to wear. Her look is both stylish
and comfortable, with soft flowing
fabrics, a little bit of tailoring and lots of
cashmere. Long pretty necklaces finish
the ensemble.
TRIED AND TESTED
Gemma trials LPG’s Cellular Regeneration
Treatment at Alevere Cambridge
When it comes to a facial treatment, you
have two options; relaxing and spiritual
or medical and technical. The latter
tend to be result-driven, and I often
find myself sitting in this camp. One of
the latest methods on the market is the
Cellular Regeneration Treatment. Alevere
Cambridge, best known as a weight
loss clinic, has launched the treatment
recently, and I was invited to experience it.
“We decided
“For anyone
who would
benefit from a
firmer, more
rejuvenated
and lifted skin.”
to launch this
as a treatment
that would
compliment
the journey
of our weight
loss clients,
as it is very
effective at
tightening the
skin of patients when they have lost
weight. Its benefits don’t solely sit within
this category; this treatment is also for
anyone who would benefit from firmer,
more rejuvenated and lifted skin,” says
Fiona, Assistant Manager at Alevere
Cambridge. LPG’s effectiveness has been
proved by clinical trials which it has passed
The end result
My lovely glowing skin!
with flying colours. During these tests,
patients reported on average, an 80%
increase in hyaluronic acid, a 46% increase
in elastin, a 2% improvement in fine lines
and a 23% improvement in firmness, and
subjects reported that their skin felt twice
as radiant.
At the beginning of my treatment, Fiona
assessed my skin’s needs and uncovered
which areas were of a concern to me. I
always feel like I have a slightly bloated
face - I blame too much tea and a chronic
lack of sleep! My eyes are often puffy and,
at the moment, I am lacking a glow due
to dehydration. Just a few things for LPG
to tackle, but Fiona assured me this was
all possible. Stage one uses an electronic
hand-held device that stimulates collagen
and elastin, the building blocks for firm and
supple skin. The machine could be targeted
to areas of concern. For me, these are my
forehead and eyes. However, Fiona told
me that one of the most popular areas to
treat is the chin. As we age, it is one of the
first areas where gravity shows its work.
Fiona performed the treatment on one
side of my face to show me the difference;
I was very impressed and could clearly see
a lifted appearance, especially around my
cheekbones. This stage of the treatment
lasted for 30 minutes; it was quite relaxing
and not uncomfortable at all.
The next stage was a facial peel. Facial
peels remove the dead skin cells, revealing
a fresh radiant glow and skin that becomes
more receptive to your regular topical
facial products. The LPG facial peel offers
a superficial chemical exfoliation using
either 10% or 20% glycolic acid. When
this was applied, I felt a slight tingling,
enough to know that some good was being
done, but without any discomfort. As the
product is very active, it can only remain
on the skin for four minutes, after which
Fiona brought out the soothing hot mitts
to delicately remove the peel.
The final stage is the treat - a refreshing
and soothing collagen mask. After your
skin has been through the mill (sucked,
prodded and exfoliated, but all for a good
reason!) the mask makes everything
worthwhile. After application, the mask
was left on for 10 minutes, and Fiona
offered to use the LPG machine on either
my hands or chest; these two areas are
prone to sun damage and fine lines. I opted
for it to be used on my hands, and was
incredibly impressed with the results.
If you’re looking for a facial treatment with
results, LPG is the one for you!
Beauty
Mel Sunshine of Essential Therapy talks to us about
Dermalogica’s latest launch
“With the growing demand for plantbased
facial oils, and, as a
self-confessed Dermalogica addict, I
was very excited to receive my launch
pack of Dermalogica’s Phyto Replenish
Oil and boy, was it worth the wait!
The feather-light oil quickly absorbs
into the skin to reinforce its natural
protective barrier. This next generation
formula takes a three-phase approach
to replenishing the protective
lipids that diminish with age and
environmental stress.
First, phytoactives from camellia and
tamanu oils help restore the skin’s
natural barrier. Secondly, a lipid
blend of orchid flower and chai seed
oil smoothes visible lines and locks
in moisture. Lastly, sunflower, rice
bran and rosemary extracts create a
luminous antioxidant shield against
free radical damage.
And, if that wasn’t enough, it smells
Rejuvenation Therapy (PRP)
Vampire Facelift
‘Skin Rejuvenation using your own plasma’ PRP has been used
in many medical specialties over 30 years. These include
cardiac surgery, wounds care, sports medicine, neurosurgery,
general surgery, orthopaedics, dentistry and cosmetics. The
end result is an appearance that looks significantly younger or
quicker healing of wounds and scars. Platelet rich plasma
(PRP) is obtained from your blood; this contains platelets which
work in the body to repair damage by clogging up cuts and
tears. Platelets also have growth factors on the surface which
stimulate collagen production when injected into the skin
Skin Rejuvenation
PRP is injected into the skin to stimulate new collagen
production and to re-energise your cells into rejuvenating
themselves. It can be used as an anti-ageing treatment. It can
be combined with Derma- roller or mixed with Dermal fillers,
vitamins and anti-oxidants for a more superior result.
Hair Clinic
Hair extensions are
making the ultimate
revival and are becoming
more accessible, with
many options now
available dependent on
budget and hair type
Gone is the idea that all hair extensions
are good for is increasing length; the
most popular reasons for requesting hair
extensions are to build up gaps in the hair,
add volume and give a healthy aesthetic,
which can be done with anything from as
little as 50 bonds. Extensions can also be
used to add colour and vibrancy to the hair,
subtle highlights to the ends of the hair, or
for a complete colour change.
When it comes to the different methods
and types of extensions, there are lots to
choose from. Fusion, for example, uses
small strands of hair that are pre-bonded,
usually with a keratin-based tip, and then
Balmain Paris
secured onto your own hair using heat
or vibration. Dependent on the brand, a
professional set can last anywhere between
3-5 months. Tape-in extensions are
semi-permanent, lasting up to 6 weeks.
An invisible strip is used to attach tiny hair
extension mini wefts or strips to the hair.
They are cost effective, and can be easily
removed, but doesn’t last as long as the
fusion technique. If you’re after a more
DIY approach, clip-in ones are the way to
go. They allow you to change your style in
minutes without any of the compromises of
the semi-permanent solutions. It’s always
best to buy them from a salon, and to
have them trimmed for
the most natural result.
Micro-ring extensions are where your hair
is passed through a small copper micro-ring
and the extension hair is clamped within the
micro ring. It does not use any heat or glue,
so is a good alternative for those who are
concerned about heat application methods.
Jo from The Moore Hair Company in Ely,
tells us a little more about the Balmain
range they use. “Although all of the
Balmain extension ranges are available to
us, we specialise in the ‘fill-in prebonded
extensions’ and the ‘ready-to-wear’ clip-in
extensions. The fill-in prebonded extensions
are 100% human hair and come with a
6-month quality guarantee. Application
can take between 1-4 hours depending on
how many bonds are required and length
etc, but this can last up to 6 months. After
then we provide re-bonding maintenance.
Prices start from £125. The ready-to-wear
range comes in several different colours and
styles, in both 100% human and memory
hair. They offer clients quick and easy
styles in a matter of minutes. Prices start
from as little as £21. In the salon we can
advise on colour matching and how to wear
the hairpiece. We also stock the Balmain
brushes, shampoos and conditioners to
keep your extensions in top condition.”
TRAIN TOGETHER
Working out in groups is always better when it comes
The team at Liberté Fitness have in fact, taken this one step further as they celebrate a
with the colder months drawing in, motivation for most is at an all time low. This isn’t the
case for the Liberté Fitness crew. “The buzz between us all is great. We think it’s vital you
surround yourself with people who all have the same goal - to get fit whilst having fun!
We train together whatever the weather and although the nights are becoming darker and
gloomier, this doesn’t stop us! Exercising with like-minded people who are all more than
happy to give an encouraging push really does make a difference,” Alison, from Liberté
Hear what Paula Ahlberg
of Wellbeing Warehouse
has to say this month
‘’The success of yoga does not lie in the ability to perform the postures but in how it
positively changes the way we live our life and our relationships’’- T.K.V.Desikachar.
One of the most profound quotes written by one of the greatest sages to bring Yoga
to the forefront. Yoga is growing in popularity as we all strive for not only a healthy
and strong body, but also clarity of mind. This ancient system has its roots going
back thousands of years, and unlike many other trends, has stayed through the test
of time. Why? Because it works.
Try a beginner class where you will learn correct breathing techniques along with
how to safely come into the postures. From there on you can move into level 2
classes and even practices such as the more dynamic Ashtanga Yoga, and if you
really want to take on a challenge and leave feeling energised, try ‘Hot Yoga’. All
FUEL THEIR FUTURE
Christopher Quint, Area Manager at Premier Education
Group, talks to us about the importance of keeping our kids active
There are some frightening studies and
statistics surrounding child obesity, but
in a world where it seems the norm and
far easier to point the finger than offer a
guiding hand, I would like to break the cycle.
With over 5,000,000 children in 2,000
schools around the UK, and following
the release of a collection of studies, it is
believed that over 25% of all children leave
school obese. This results in poor selfimage,
low self-esteem, and a tendency to
withdraw from others and in some severe
cases depression which can be taken on
into adult life. As adults, teachers, coaches
and activity professionals, we have a
responsibility and a duty to the youth of
today, and to ourselves to step up, take
positive action and be the guiding force that
inspires change. And it is easier than you
think. I’ve outlined three simple steps...
1. LEAD BY EXAMPLE
It’s the same in adults as it is in children. A
healthy and balanced nutritional program
and regular exercise helps with both
physical and mental states, no matter how
old you are. Practice what you preach and
be the change that inspires. Staying active,
eating healthily and encouraging children
to do the same is a great way to learn about
new foods and activities and get healthy
together. It’s as simple as finding a healthy
recipe online or in a magazine, cycling
or walking to the shops to collect the
ingredients to cook for all the family.
2. KIDS NEED TO BE KIDS
Play is the way! Put down the tablet, games
console or phone and get outside. A trip
to the park, a cycle ride or forest walk with
friends can not only help increase physical
attributes but encourage social interaction,
communication skills and skills like problem
solving and working as part of a team.
Games such as capture the flag, tag and
obstacle courses plus cycle rides round the
village, are a great source of exercise as well
as working on agility, strength, competitive
nature and problem solving in a fun way.
3. SUPPORT PE AND ORGANISED
RECREATION
Organised clubs and PE support in schools
and in extra-curricular clubs has been
proven to improve learning capacity and
classroom performance by up to 25% in
areas such as productivity, attentiveness
and achievement. As little as 30 minutes
exercise has been proven to, not only
improve the in-class participation, but
overall performance in exams.
Health
Revved Up
The Wrong Way?
This month, Adam Prescott asks if we’re looking at losing
weight from the wrong angle...
Last month, I explained why focusing on
results instead of health has actually, in
a weird ironic way, become detrimental
to your results. If you missed it, you can
still read my column from last month at
www.velvetmag.co.uk. I also gave a few
challenges to help start adjusting your
mindset and boosting your confidence, so
I hope you have been giving them a go as it
can all contribute to a ‘healthier you’ in the
long run.
This month I want to dive into
something a little more ‘foodie’
related and ask, how do we eat
to feel good and lose weight?
Well, isn’t that the million dollar
question?! How many people
do you know that are trying to
lose weight, or wanting to start
losing weight? Exactly... quite a
few! How many ‘diets’ do you know
about? Atkins, Paleo, Ketogenic?
Or perhaps some of the more, what
I would call, ‘hideous diet schemes’
like ‘The Special K Diet’, ‘The Cambridge
Diet’ or ‘The Cookie Diet’ (yes that is a real
thing)...
If there are so many diets out there,
how come everyone is still trying and
struggling to lose weight? Well, as I briefly
said up top, last month I spoke about how
confidence (or lack of) and mindset is a
huge contributor to whether we succeed
in losing body fat, feeling healthy and,
fundamentally, feeling confident again.
Let’s forget about the psychological aspect
this month and automatically remove
these ‘diets’ as they just contribute to more
misinformation and confusion amongst
people who truly want to change their
appearance and feel more confident long
term, not to mention they can damage
people’s health. Let’s focus more on the
real food diets.
The three real food diets I’ve already
mentioned above (Atkins, Paleo,
Ketogenic), along with many others, all
have a couple of things in common... they
all have many success stories and they all
favour one macro
nutrient,
whether it
be fat,
protein or
carbohydrates.
I’ve seen professionals that favour one
of these particular diets argue their way
of eating over the other until they are
red in the face. Yet, at some point in the
argument they will all state that ‘everybody
is different’. That’s exactly my point! The
tricky thing about nutrition is everybody
is different. I personally feel that macro
nutrients have been dumbed down over
the years. When a lot of people think of
protein, they only think of meat or eggs.
What about beans and legumes that have
lots of protein as well as many other micro
and phytonutrients?
That leads to my point: this critical
thinking should instead be focused on
getting optimal amounts of micro and
phytonutrients into the body without
an excess of any macro nutrients. You
could be relatively healthy on a diet
that is high in fats, proteins or
carbohydrates (providing they’re of
high quality). The key focus should
be on a comprehensive nutrient
intake - are we getting enough
micronutrients, phytonutrients
and antioxidants into our bodies to
maximise our bodily functions?
Let’s now look at obesity, or being
overweight. The common action
when someone wants to lose weight,
for whatever reason, is to reduce the
amount of food we eat and increase
the amount of energy we output. The
classic calories in vs calories out. But hold
on, what are the key symptoms of being
obese? Tired, demotivated, unhappy (not
always but generally), bags under the eyes,
maybe signs of metabolic syndrome; high
blood pressure, high blood glucose levels,
early onset of type 2 diabetes... I’m not
saying if you are overweight that all of
those apply to you, you may only have a
couple, particularly the first few. But if
that’s the case, is restricting your nutrient
intake the right thing to be doing, let alone
coupling that with increasing exercise? All
of a sudden you find your body craving for
nutrients, sending you all of these signals,
74
Velvet Magazine | October 2016

Health
pleading with you to digest some nutrients.
Therefore, not long after starting this new
‘diet’ you feel even worse and your willpower
doesn’t stand a
“Your body
is screaming
at you for
nutrients.”
chance of fending
off those toxic
sugary chemicals
- apparently also
known as food.
This almost always
happens on the
quick fix diets you hear about, but it can
also happen on the real food diets when one
macro nutrient is favoured too much.
All of those side effects from eating
excessive amounts of calories and poorquality
‘foods’ are just that - side effects.
You may think that you’re eating too much
because of the amount of calories you are
consuming, however your body is screaming
at you for nutrients. All of the side effects;
feeling down, excess body fat, tiredness
etc, can be reversed if you give the body
the nutrients it needs to thrive. And that is
exactly what optimal consumption of micro
nutrients, phytonutrients and antioxidants
can do.
This is why at Revolution Fitness, we look
at excess body fat as a deficiency issue. By
loading the body up with an ample amount
of micronutrients, phytonutrients and
antioxidants (by that I mean a large variety
of vegetables!) we can give the body what
it needs to start optimising its functions,
boosting energy levels and dropping the
inches. When you consume excess amounts
of these nutrients without the excess of
calories, the body starts to function at a
higher level and you will naturally consume
enough macro nutrients by eating large
variations of fruits and vegetables such as,
avocados, nuts, seeds, onions, mushrooms,
green vegetables and cruciferous vegetables
to name just a few.
So what are the types of nutrients I keep
going on about? Micronutrients are
non-caloric elements and substances that
play a crucial role in our daily functions,
from regulating your metabolism to bone
density, such as magnesium or calcium.
Phytonutrients are the ‘new kids on the
block’, only being discovered in the 1990s.
They are natural chemicals found in a lot
of our fruits, vegetables, beans, nuts and
seeds. They are paramount in disease
prevention and keeping you functioning
optimally. Antioxidants? Well we’ve all
heard of these and know they are good for
you but what do they do? Put simply, they
are elements that prohibit the oxidation of
other molecules in the body, keeping you
strong and lively. A couple of examples
would be Vitamin C and selenium.
Eating raw is important too. There are
up to 50% more nutrients in raw foods
than there are in cooked foods. I’ll give
you a quick example, phytochemicals like
isothiocyanates (ITCs) are formed after an
enzyme reaction. The enzyme needed for
this reaction is called myrosinase, and can
only happen after the cell wall is broken
down (chewed or blended). If you cook
the food first, it destroys the myrosinase
inhibiting the formation of the ITCs,
lowering the nutrient and craving-reducing
value of the food. Whenever you eat a meal,
ask yourself, is there any way I can add
some raw additions to this meal?
When I have my omelette in the morning, I
choose a variety of veg, normally something
along the lines of onions, mushrooms,
peppers, spinach, thyme and garlic. I put
half of all of those in the pan along with
the eggs, whilst the other half I put straight
onto the plate... RAW! It all tastes great and
I get the full nutrient value of those foods.
For the next 30 days, until the next issue of
Velvet, try focusing on cutting out all of the
processed food and bring back the veg. Add
in spices and herbs to flavour everything,
and then add anything raw which comes to
mind. Try my top tips from last month, and
my ‘extra veg challenge’ this month and see
how you feel by the end of October.
KITTED OUT
Increased space, brand
new equipment and a
fresh look... Newmarket’s
Abbeycroft Leisure
Centre has undergone a
significant revamp
If you’re looking for the latest technology in
a spacious, fully-equipped gym, then stop
the search. In a bid to improve the facilities
for both customers and staff, the team at
Abbeycroft Leisure have just invested in
a complete overhaul at their current site
here in Newmarket. Not only have they
introduced an abundance of the latest new
equipment, they’ve also increased the gym
space. For those of you who already know
the space, Studio 3 and the internal staff
office will be knocked through to create a
larger gym space which will make room for
the new Matrix Fitness equipment.
Whilst some of the current machines
will remain, there will be plenty of new
equipment too including:
• A new second squat rack and Connexus
functional and group training rigs.
• A new 50-station-strong cardiovascular
suite will include the latest Climb Mills,
S Drive treadmills and the IC7 indoor
cycles with ‘Coach by Color’ console
displays which display both watt rate and
heart rate to help users hit their unique
training targets.
These really are the most up-to-date pieces
of technology and will offer members
new ways to train. Other pieces of new
equipment include:
• An Olympic lifting platform
• TRX with X-Mount
• Hybrid, Recumbent and Upright Cycles
• Elliptical Trainers, Steppers, Drive
Performance Trainers and more.
These additional training stations will mean
less chaos at peak times and will also enable
them to facilitate new members.
Alongside the new equipment and
increased gym space, the interior itself
will see a fresh new look. For the majority
of the refurbishment, the gym has been
able to remain open keeping disruption to
a minimum for existing members. Closing
for just three days, the new refreshed space
will open on Saturday 8th October when
all work will have been completed. On 15th
and 16th October, they will hold an open
weekend to showcase their new facilities to
current members as well as welcoming new
ones too.
SIPS AWAY!
The UK has gone gin-mad! Treat the gin
lover in your life, even if that’s yourself,
to some new gin glasses, for a G&T in
true style at home. Why not top up your
glass with newcomer, Newmarket Gin?
Created to celebrate Newmarket’s 350
years of history, this is a specialist gin that
will hit all the right tastebuds.
“Fresh from ‘Focus 2016’ and ‘Decorex’, we should all be looking
for more interest and colour in our busy lives. Using fabrics in a
combined way - with say one fabric on the back of a chair and
another on the face, will create interest and detail and make one’s
eyes dance around a room. Comfort is king, and style and colour
are life-enhancing. Chalks, beiges and neutrals are fast ‘going
out of fashion’. Let us all embrace the beauty and design there
is out there! Transform a favourite chair by re-upholstering it,
move pictures and furniture around the room to create a change
of scenery and enabling you to look at what you already have
in a new light. Interior design should reflect your character and
interests but practicality and comfort are always the priority.”
Ivett & Reed
ALL FIRED UP
Ivett & Reed tell us
what’s hot when it comes
to fireplaces this season
Gazco
As the nights draw in and temperatures
drop, there’s nothing quite like lighting
a fire in the evenings. Not only do fires
add warmth and comfort to your home, a
fireplace is also great for adding a stunning
focal point to your room. When it comes
to style, practicality and budget, there’s a
lot to consider. We caught up with James
Hilton, Business Development Manager
at Cambridge’s Ivett & Reed, to find out a
little more...
Now in their 120th year of trading, Ivett
& Reed really know their stuff when it
comes to stonemasonry. They manufacture
and install bespoke stone fireplaces and
hearths, and are one of the region’s major
independent retailers of fires and stoves.
From wood burning and multi-fuel, to gas
and electric, they’ve got it covered. They
use a reputable number of brands including
Clearview, Jotul, Gazco, Stovax, Bellfires
and Jetmaster, but how do you decide
what’s best?
With over 60 fireplaces on display and
many live working fires, their Cambridge
showroom has lots to offer. “Following a
boom in sales of wood burning and multifuel
stoves in recent years, we have seen a
significant shift in the market back towards
gas fires in the past 12 months,” James
tells us. “Leading manufacturers such as
Gazco and Bellfires have continued to
develop products offering an increasingly
realistic log effect, combined with the clean
convenience of gas,” he continues.
These quality gas fires are available in
versions to suit most properties, either
set into a traditional stone fireplace and
hearth, as a more contemporary ‘hole-inthe-wall’,
or even as gas versions of popular
freestanding stove designs. “Wood burning
stoves still remain popular for us, with new
models such as the Jotul F 105 and Stovax
Elise range of cassette stoves making a
particular impact on the market this year,”
explains James.
To complete the picture, the new Gazco
Radiance range of electric fires, offering
both flat wall-mounted and inset versions,
have been a real hit with Ivett & Reed’s
clients in Cambridge. “If you’re looking
for a contemporary feature fire in a room
where a solid fuel or gas appliance is either
impractical or not required, then this would
be for you!” James concludes.
To find out more about what Ivett & Reed
have to offer, or if you’re seeking a little
guidance, be sure to pop in and take a look
for yourselves. Embrace the coldness and
look forward to those cosy nights in...
Getting to Know:
LESLEY GILLAM
This month we talk all things interiors with
Lesley, of Newmarket’s Lesley Gillam Designs
Lesley Gillam has a stunning shop consisting of five rooms set in a beautiful courtyard
which is tucked away in the village of Exning, just outside Newmarket. It boasts a wide range
of fabrics, wall coverings, soft furnishings, fabulous lighting, floral arrangements and gifts
for the home. Lesley and her team are constantly updating their collection and warmly
welcome both new and old faces.
HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN THE INDUSTRY?
For more years than I care to think about. I have always sewn, but as a business I started by
making curtains and blinds from a work room at home when my son was young. He’s now
34!
WHERE DO YOU SOURCE YOUR INSPIRATION?
I think it mainly comes from my clients themselves. Every one is an individual with unique
likes, dislikes and ways of living their lives. They may say to me that they don’t know what
they want, but finding out what they don’t like and what they are passionate about soon
shows me the way to go.
IF YOU COULD PICK ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I think my one word would have to be stylish, although other words such as individualistic,
classic and practical spring to mind.
WHAT DO YOU ENJOY MOST ABOUT BEING AN INTERIOR DESIGNER?
It has to be the end result. It is a privilege to be invited into someone’s home and for them
to trust me to be able to do the best for them. Everyone has things which are important to
them, such as that inherited piece from Granny or a cherished painting by little Tommy for
example, and it is imperative they are respected and worked into the finished scheme as the
client wants.
WHAT IS YOUR BEST PIECE OF ADVICE FOR SOMEONE LOOKING TO RESTYLE THEIR INTERIOR?
Step back and thing about how you live your life and again the practicality of your home.
It is no good adding things into a room if the layout is fundamentally wrong or if you are
always moving things or tripping over them. Storage is imperative.
WHAT ARE YOUR AREAS OF EXPERTISE?
Interior design is just the tip of the iceberg for me! I also offer room styling, bespoke
curtains and blinds, and sourcing those elusive items to complete your look. In fact, I also
have a beautiful selection of hats, fascinators and jewellery and much, much more.
WHAT DO YOU PREDICT IS GOING TO BE PROMINENT NEXT YEAR?
Neutrals have been big and will remain so. They make a safe choice for those bigger
purchases such as sofas, curtains or carpets, especially in economic uncertainty, but also
make a great base for splashes of trendy colour like acid green or amethyst. Greys are
great, through to storm blue, glowing with metallic and pearlescent hues.
THE CLARKE AND CLARKE
BLIGHTY RANGE
A range of fabric with a myriad of
animal prints, including geese, hares,
owls, elephants and dogs which
add a quirky and modern twist to
kitchens and look brilliant as Roman
Blinds in children’s bedrooms.
THE VOYAGE, COUTURE AND
ENCHANTED FOREST RANGE
These include neutral ivory, taupe
and grey colours, with glamorous
bead finishes in silver and gold,
which give a plush look to hallways
and a beautiful ‘boutique hotel look’
to bedrooms.
THE ILIV MOORLAND RANGE
These sumptuous purple, green,
fawn and red tones, with thistles and
tartan, give a fabulous rich country
look to any area of the home.
Or why not take a look at their new range
of Visage Blinds? These give a cutting
edge, minimal look, and can be motorised
for ease of operation. Vision Blinds are
also proving to be very popular. These are
made from Louvolite’s revolutionary Vision
Fabric, which alternates mesh and solid
fabric panels, allowing complete control of
light and privacy. You can simply stop and
start the blind to create the effect that you
want.
Vision blinds come in a range of metallic
finishes, sheer fabrics, natural wood
woven effects and contemporary muted
tones with matching headrails to blend
perfectly into any room. Suitable for the
home, conservatories or offices, Vision
Blinds provide a fashionable alternative
to traditional blinds, with unparalleled
flexibility in terms of settings.
“We base our business on personal service
and high quality,” says Fiona Garwood,
a director at Cambridge Sunblinds. “The
ethos of the business has always been to
provide an excellent service, and we like to
do that little bit extra for our customers to
ensure they receive beautiful quality blinds
and curtains that match their needs. Ask
for our bespoke, measuring and estimating
service, and view the samples in the
comfort of your own home.”
www.splandscapes.co.uk
TOP 5 QUESTIONS TO ASK
When Hiring a Tree Surgeon
Simon Luckings, of S P Landscapes & Tree Contractors, talks to
us about what you should consider when hiring a tree surgeon
1. ARE THEY INSURED?
A reputable tree surgery company
should be able to provide a copy of their
Employers’ & Public Liability insurance
before any works are carried out. The
recommended minimum cover is £5 million,
but we have insurance for up to £10 million.
2. DO THEY WORK TO BRITISH
STANDARD BS3998:2010 TREE WORK –
RECOMMENDATIONS?
All competent tree surgeons should be
undertaking works to this standard, where
applicable. This may be difficult for the
client to check, but a company which holds
ARB Approved Contractor status with
the Arboricultural Association, means that
they are regularly monitored by industry
specialists. We provide a copy of our ARB
Approved Contractor certificate with all
our quotations, but clients can check to
see if a contractor is ARB Approved on the
Arboricultural Association website, which is
www.trees.org.uk
3. WILL THEY PROVIDE A WRITTEN
QUOTATION WITH A FIXED PRICE?
We provide a written quotation that details
all of the works with the prices clearly stated
and that they are subject to VAT. Any
contractor that does not provide a written
quotation should be avoided, as there may
be difficulties if the work is not completed
as the client had hoped, and the contractor
is in disagreement. It is also essential to
confirm in the quote what will happen with
the timber and brushwood resulting from
the works and if you want this removed
from site, make sure this is detailed in the
quote.
4. ARE THE STAFF QUALIFIED TO UNDERTAKE
THE WORK?
If a company holds the relevant insurance,
and is an ARB Approved Contractor, it
would have been vetted to ensure their staff
are adequately qualified. The client can still
ask to see the individual staff qualifications
and they can check these online through
the NPTC or Lantra Awards websites,
which are the main two training providers
for chainsaw and aerial tree work. All our
staff carry individual NPTC skills cards that
list their qualifications and have photograph
identification.
5. CAN THEY PROVIDE A NAME AND NUMBER
OF A REFEREE FOR COMPLETED TREE WORK
OF A SIMILAR NATURE?
Our current client list includes Forest
Heath and South Cambridgeshire District
Councils, Cambridge City Council, The
Forestry Commission, Flagship Housing
Association and Godolphin for commercial
tree works. We also have over a thousand
regular and new domestic clients so will
always be able to provide an appropriate
reference depending on the works required.
BMW M135i
The turbo-charged 3.0-litre straightsix
Motoring
Do you feel like a valued customer? Chloe Gimblett, from
Newmarket Motor Company, believes more can be done when buying a car
Personally I love cars, I love driving cars,
I love motor racing, and I love working
with and selling cars. Perhaps this makes
me different from other ladies, however, I
understand that when it comes to buying a
used car, it can seem like a risky business.
Knowing what to buy, where to get good
advice, and of course the best price, are all
things that spring to mind and we all want
informative answers.
I’m hoping to encourage more women
to get fun out of cars and to see the
dealership where I am based as a source of
helpful information and a chance to try out
different makes and models.
As a self-proclaimed petrol head, it
absolutely amazes me to find out that
recent research shows 90% of the female
population say they would not visit a car
showroom without a man, and right now,
there are some 860,000 women ready to
buy a car! My challenge is to give the whole
‘used car buying experience’ a fresh look,
and show what a massively enjoyable and
smooth experience it can be.
If you are not comfortable entering
the world of car buying on your own, I
would absolutely love to change your
perspective and give you an experience
which is welcoming and fun in a relaxed
environment. At Newmarket Motor
Company, we have many different makes
and models to choose from - sports cars,
hatchbacks and saloons - at some of the
best prices in the UK.
I am positive that there are many female
car enthusiasts and, to create some fun, I’m
creating a car club exclusive to us ladies,
aimed at those with an interest in driving
cars, motorsport and social events.
This also gives anyone who is eager to see
more of the world of cars a chance to do
exactly that.
If you are interested in being a part of this,
please get in touch with me, as your views
would be really appreciated.
I am super excited about arranging events
where there will be opportunities such as
driving race cars, meeting the drivers and
sampling loads of different makes of cars
away from any sales environment and
pressure to buy.
Whether you are looking to buy or just want
relaxed, friendly advice on which car would
suit you, or perhaps how best to finance
your car, our doors are open seven days
a week, so come and have a chat, we’re a
friendly bunch.
Newmarket Motor Company is proud to be
an approved member of Foxy Lady Drivers
Club delivering female-friendly standards of
customer service.
