CONNECTIVITY<br />

The source data in this section encompasses usage from<br />

smartphones, tablets, computers, and other devices that connect<br />

to the Internet through mobile network providers. In addition,<br />

this section includes insight into mobile voice- and data-traffic trends<br />

contributed by Ericsson, a leading provider of telecommunications<br />

equipment and related services to mobile and fixed operators globally.<br />

Mobile connectivity metrics are aggregated at a country/region level.<br />

8.1 Connection Speeds on Mobile Networks (IPv4) /<br />

Beginning with this quarter’s report, the countries/regions covered in<br />

this section, along with their categorization, have been altered slightly<br />

to align with the rest of the State of the Internet Report. This section<br />

will now provide mobile data and analysis for the same surveyed<br />

countries/regions covered in Sections 4 through 7 of this report, and<br />

the countries/regions will be categorized in the same way: Americas,<br />

Asia Pacific, Europe, and Middle East/Africa. Countries/regions<br />

marked with an asterisk in the chart below have not met the minimum<br />

requirement of 25,000 unique IPv4 addresses seen by Akamai and<br />
