Publisher 22CM seeks readers’ most creative costumes
Early entrants
eligible for additional
prize opportunities

Halloween is drawing eerily
near.
One might say it’s even
lingering around the corner.
Or waiting for its chance
to strike.
But as you may already
know, we here at publisher
22nd Century Media feel
the world is already a scaryenough
place. What we like
about Halloween is the creativity
that goes into the annual
dress-up day.
Whether you modified a
store-bought costume in a
clever way, crafted something
from scratch to make sure everyone
knows your opinions
on current events (sigh, it is an
election year, we suppose) or
simply made the best of a limited
budget, we want to see it.
We are returning our Halloween
Costume Contest for
2016 with two categories to
enter: ages 17 and older, 16
and younger.
We’re going to pick just
one winner across each category
from all seven of our
southwest suburban towns:
Orland Park, Tinley Park,
Frankfort, Mokena, New
Lenox, Homer Glen and
Lockport. So your entries
need to be good.
We have just a few rules,
which you can check out in
one of the accompanying
sidebars.
While the competition
may be tougher this fall, the
prizes are well worth it, as
a number of area business
have stepped up to sponsor
our two categories (the prizes
are detailed in the other
accompanying sidebar).

The Prizes
A breakdown of the prizes available in 22nd Century
Media’s 2016 Halloween Costume Contest.
Best Adult Costume
• A $25 gift certificate to Artesá Baking Company,
14045 S. Bell Road in Homer Glen.
• Two hours of free bowling for up to six people —
along with a pitcher of pop and a 12-inch pizza — at
Laraway Lanes, 1009 W. Laraway Road in New Lenox.
Best Children’s Costume
• A $25 gift certificate to Odyssey Fun World, 19111
Oak Park Ave. in Tinley Park.
• Four passes good for one free child admission
apiece at The Children’s Museum in Oak Lawn, 5100
Museum Drive in Oak Lawn.
Early Entry Prizes
• Two free admission tickets to the Creepy Hallow/
Fawn’s Fall Fest & Pumpkin Farm, 24405 S. LaGrange
Road in Frankfort.
• Four passes to the Hayride of Horror in Delwood
Park, 199 E. Woods Drive in Lockport.
• A pass good for one walking 9-hole round of golf
on Rolling Hills, courtesy of Silver Lake Country Club,
14700 S. 82nd Ave. in Orland Park.
The rules
1) You have to be the person in the costume. You
cannot submit for anyone else, with the exception of
parents who submit their children.
2) Each person can only submit one costume for an
entry (basically, you cannot send yourself in multiple
costumes — pick one), though families can send one
entry per person (and they can be submitted together)
from different members of the family.
3) We understand there may be a bit in the way of
scary imagery (such is the nature of the holiday), but
the costumes have to be relatively family friendly to be
considered and published. Nothing beyond PG-13.
4) Entries must be submitted no later than 10 a.m.

Park, IL, 60467 (physical entries cannot be returned),
along with names, email addresses and/or phone
numbers, and towns for each of the entrants.
5) The entries will be judged by 22nd Century Media’s
editorial staff, with winners being chosen based on
creativity, successful execution of an idea, quality
of craftsmanship and consideration of the holiday/
season.
6) All entries are subject to being published.
