VAN KLINK’S RX-8 READY FOR ACTION<br />
Marcus van Klink’s brand new Mazda<br />
RX-8 has broken cover, and the fourtime<br />
New Zealand historic champion’s<br />
new car looks a beast!<br />
The new car features a 20B triple<br />
rotor engine, six speed sequential<br />
gearbox and MCA suspension, all<br />
wrapped in a large amount of carbon<br />
fibre.<br />
All bolt on panels, plus the roof, are<br />
carbon, while the engine is a peripheral<br />
ported Rotary 20B short block (made<br />
up using effectively three 13B style<br />
housings and rotors, with a custom<br />
crank, as opposed to the factory 20B<br />
motors that are quite a bit longer).<br />
The car was on the dyno recently and<br />
produced an incredible 370 bhp at the<br />
wheels.<br />
It will run a Quaife six-speed<br />
sequential gearbox, the same as those<br />
used in New Zealand Super Touring<br />
Cars, with AP brakes, and a Motec dash<br />
display<br />
As you can see, the car looks<br />
magnificent.<br />
REEVES JOINS PADDON IN SPAIN<br />
In-form duo, Brendan Reeves and<br />
Rhianon Gelsomino, are in Spain this<br />
weekend (<strong>October</strong> 14-16) acting as<br />
the gravel note crew for Hyundai stars<br />
Hayden Paddon and John Kennard.<br />
Reeves will drive the stages prior<br />
to Paddon and relay any changes in<br />
road conditions to the Kiwi. If the new<br />
partnership goes well, Reeves could be<br />
in line for a contract with Paddon in the<br />
2017 World Rally Championship.<br />
