dance converter (JUMO Data Sheet 20.2995), that screws on to the electrode, is recommended. It
reduces the high internal impedance of the electrode and allows good signal-stabilized transmission
of the measured value to the connected transmitter.
2.1.4 Transmitter/controller
One of the tasks of the transmitter is to convert the high-impedance signal of the pH electrode to
the pH scale, and to make this available once again as an indicator and/or standard signal. The
transmitter normally incorporates a calibration routine for adjusting the electrode with buffer solutions.
The transmitters are often designed to operate as controllers at the same time, so that they can
perform dosing of acids and alkalis for pH correction, for example. In addition, the transmitter
takes account of the temperature, either by a manual entry option, or by a separate measurement
input for the temperature sensor.
