People across the country have been busy raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support over the past month as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event. Now, Katy Watt from St Chad’s has come up with a crafty way of honouring the work of Macmillan with a fundraising quilt. The idea is that people contribute a square towards the quilt which, when it is completed, will then be raffled off. Each square can be stitched, sewn, knitted or embroided. There are two rules: your square must be 25cm x 25cm allowing for a 5cm hem (each finished square once added to the quilt will be roughly 20cm squared) and it needs to have a bit of green in – it is for MacMillan! You also need to stitch in your name. Give your completed square to Katy or send it to The McMillan Quilt, 72 Cartmell Road, Woodseats, Sheffield S8 0NJ, along with a £1 donation.
