Perfect Score on
Environmental
Issue Scorecard
Representative Dykema
was recognized by the Environmental
Action League
of Massachusetts (ELM) Action
Fund with a perfect score
of 100 on the organization’s
2015-2016 Legislative Scorecard
on the environment. The
scorecard takes into account
legislators’ votes on bills and
budget items that directly impact
the environment, as well
as other advocacy work done
for environmental issues over
the course of the session.
Representative Dykema,
who sits on the Joint Committee
on the Environment, Natural
Resources, and Agriculture,
filed and co-sponsored a number
of bills that supported environmental
protection and
conservation efforts. She also
filed a budget amendment to
propose increased FY17 funding
for the Department of
Conservation and Recreation
Watershed Management line
item, an ELM Green Budget
priority item. Along with Rep.
Dave Rogers (D-Cambridge),
she led the legislative effort to
override the governor’s veto of
the Department of Environmental
Protection’s administrative
line item, another Green
Budget priority.
Representative Dykema
was also recognized twice as
part of ELM’s honor roll for
her leadership on environmental
protection during the FY17
budget process and her contributions
to the ongoing NPDES
delegation policy discussion.
