ADVERTISING POPPY PRODUCTS<br />
822. Regardless of whether a product or item has been granted<br />
approval to use the <strong>Poppy</strong> trademark, Legion policy prohibits<br />
the practice of advertising the availability of any such item or<br />
product to all branches. These requests will be denied, with<br />
the suggestion that the individual or company contact Legion<br />
magazine for their paid advertising options.<br />
DISCOVERY OF MISUSE<br />
823. Commands and branches are requested to play a substantive<br />
role in protecting our trademark from unauthorized<br />
usage. All members are requested to report unauthorized<br />
uses of the <strong>Poppy</strong> trademark to the Secretary, <strong>Poppy</strong> and<br />
Remembrance Committee at Dominion Command.<br />

MISUSE<br />
824. The unauthorized use of the <strong>Poppy</strong> symbol by any command,<br />
branch, corporation, group or individual may result in<br />
litigation or sanction against the offending party.<br />
CONCLUSION<br />
825. This information was developed to provide guidelines<br />
governing the use of the registered trademark <strong>Poppy</strong> image.<br />
The Legion has been entrusted with the significant task of<br />
safeguarding the sacred <strong>Poppy</strong>, protecting it from misuse and<br />
commercialization. Our Wartime Veterans bravely accepted<br />
the duty and responsibility to protect our rights and freedom;<br />
it is now we who must accept the duty and responsibility to<br />
protect and honour them. Through the collective efforts of all<br />
Legion members, we will ensure that the <strong>Poppy</strong> remains the<br />
symbol of Remembrance for their sacrifices.<br />
