39 A 2001 Audi TT 180
Quattro, registration number
LJ51 DWZ, Nimbus grey.
This Audi TT has been in the
current ownership for the
past three years. It is finished
in a very distinctive colour
combination of Nimbus grey
with a contrasting electric
black roof and matching full
black leather interior. There
is a good history file
accompanying the car with
service receipts, including a
***timing belt (not cam
belt)*** change in 2014 when
the mileage was recorded
***at 74,174 (not 75,000)
miles***. The odometer now
reads 80,000 miles. There
are further receipts, past
MOTs to substantiate the
mileage, and it is also
supplied with the dealer's
wallet containing all
handbooks and service book.
40 A 1938 Morris 14/6 Series
III saloon, registration
number BEW 234, black.
Launched at the 1937
London Motor Show
alongside its 10, 12 and 25
stable mates, the 14 featured
an overhead valve engine,
four speed gearbox with
synchromesh on third and
fourth, painted (rather than
chrome) radiator cowl,
Easyclean wheels, and
sliding sunroof. This
incredibly original example
was discovered in barn find
condition in a West London
garage where it had been in
hibernation since the 1970s.
Being a Series III car it is one
of approximately 5,000
produced between 1938 and
early 1939, and it is believed
to be one of only six known
to the pre-1940 Morris
register. Since awakening the
Morris from its slumber in
2011 the vendor has traced
the history to its time as a
staff car with the Air Ministry
at RAF Warboys and
subsequent sale to the local
village store in February
1944. Having transported the
Morris back to his home in
Somerset, he embarked on a
programme
of
recommissioning the car,
retaining as much originality
as possible. Works carried
out include replacing the two
6 volt batteries, new cross ply
tyres all round, reconditioning
the Jackall system,
overhauling the breaking
system, respraying the
bonnet and rear spare wheel
cover and servicing the car
as necessary. The
accompanying history file
contains two original
handbooks, Morris Garages
trade catalogue, Lucas
service information, an
original sales brochure and
Government War information
leaflet (dated 1939). This
extremely rare and original
Morris has attended local
classic car events in the
current ownership, where it
has been well admired and is
now offered for auction so
the vendor can concentrate
on other business interests.
41 A 1990 Porsche 911 (964)
Tiptronic
cabriolet,
registration number H957
NEY, Guards red. New for
1989 the 964 featured both
two and four wheel drive
versions and had an
estimated 85% new
components compared to its
911 predecessor. The engine
had increased to 3.6 litres,
the suspension was new with
coil springs and shock
absorbers to replace the
previous torsion bar
suspension, ABS braking
was added for the first time,
the bumpers and fog lamps
became flush with the body
and the ingenious electric
rear spoiler raised at speeds
over 50mph. This particular
example, finished in the
classic colour combination of
Guards red with a full black
leather interior, is a C16 UK
specified right hand drive
Tiptronic version, which was
first registered in 1990 in
Germany and found its way
to the UK in 1996. The
