SWANS, GLOVES, ROSES AND
PANCAKES: MARTIN PARR PHOTOS
A new photographic exhibition at
Tower Bridge will showcase new and
DAZZLE@OXO FOR CONTEMPORARY
CHRISTMAS GIFTS
For 35 years, Dazzle has trailblazed in
the contemporary jewellery sector – not
least coining the very name – and has
become an annual fixture in the diaries
of contemporary jewellery lovers,
topping up collections and keeping
abreast of developments. It is also a
wonderful place for buying truly
individual Christmas gifts in the most
relaxed of settings with the most
spectacular of Thames backdrops and a
specialist staff making the whole
business of buying jewellery an
experience, as befits a meaningful,
personal purchase.
As ever, the annual Dazzle is an
incomparable mix of the big,
internationally collectable names and the
rising stars who are handpicked every
year from the graduate shows. Over
4,000 hand made pieces will be for sale
by some 80 international designers at
the gallery@oxo in the iconic Oxo
Tower, from 13 November to 8 January,
THE MUSEUM OF SLEEP
The mysteries and wonders of sleep,
the subconscious and the world of
dreams are laid bare at the new citizen
M flagship hotel in Tower Hill as it
launches with a micro museum
dedicated to sleep. The Micro Museum
of Sleep offers guests the chance to look
through peep-holes into four vitrines
containing a variety of creative, gallerystyle
outputs that each represent sleep
and dreaming in some way.
The surreal and otherworldy nature
of sleep is the focus of a diorama
representing the Mesopotamian God of
Dreams created by Olivia Bargman. The
diorama is paired with an animation by
video artist Alice Dunseath, an abstract
interpretation of the sights and sounds
we experience whilst in our restful
dream-like state.
