STAR WARS IDENTITIES: THE
EXHIBITION LANDS AT THE O2
For almost 40 years, audiences
around the world have followed the
adventures of Luke and Anakin
Skywalker, cinema’s most famous father
and son duo, and now a redefined
modern exhibition experience enables
visitors to rediscover the unforgettable
characters of Star Wars in a whole new
way. The ground-breaking exhibition,
which will be on view at The O2 from
18 November 2016 to 3 September
2017, explores the complex notion of
identity through the characters of Star
Wars and will feature an exclusive
collection of 200 props, models,
costumes and artwork from the original
films, as well as an interactive identity
quest, and insightful scientific content.
SWANS, GLOVES, ROSES AND
PANCAKES: MARTIN PARR PHOTOS
A new photographic exhibition at
Tower Bridge will showcase new and
unseen work by Martin Parr and is on
display in the Victorian Engine Rooms,
home to the coal-driven engines that
once powered the mighty Bridge lifts.
As the City of London’s photographerin-residence
since 2013, Magnum
photographer Martin Parr has
documented the life of the City through
the gaze of his lens. The resulting
images offer a unique visual account of
contemporary London, capturing ancient
and modern traditions, unseen private
ceremonies and behind-the-scenes
moments that reveal the traditions and
people that make up the unique
character of the City.

DAZZLE@OXO FOR CONTEMPORARY
CHRISTMAS GIFTS

the gallery@oxo in the iconic Oxo
Tower, from 13 November to 8 January,

hand made leather bags by awardwinning
Steven Harkin and fine woven
wool scarves by Ekta Kaul.
THE MUSEUM OF SLEEP
The mysteries and wonders of sleep,
the subconscious and the world of
dreams are laid bare at the new citizen
M flagship hotel in Tower Hill as it
launches with a micro museum
dedicated to sleep. The Micro Museum
of Sleep offers guests the chance to look
through peep-holes into four vitrines
containing a variety of creative, gallerystyle
outputs that each represent sleep
and dreaming in some way.
The surreal and otherworldy nature
of sleep is the focus of a diorama
representing the Mesopotamian God of
Dreams created by Olivia Bargman. The
diorama is paired with an animation by
video artist Alice Dunseath, an abstract
interpretation of the sights and sounds
we experience whilst in our restful
dream-like state.
