Plant Cozies
Notes
This plant cozy is offered in three different sizes. Please ensure
that you are following the same set of directions. The plant cozy
is worked from the bottom up. All stitches on chart are worked as
Knit stitches.
Directions
All sizes: Using the Row 1 colour of the chosen chart and a
stretchy cast on, cast on 51 (63, 95) sts. Divide sts evenly across
all four needles. Join to begin working in the round, being careful
not to twist sts.
Small Cozy
Begin working from Small Chart . Repeat across all sts to end of
round until chart is complete, changing colours when necessary.
St pattern repeats are marked in orange. Work to the end of
Round 19. Colourwork portion of plant cozy is complete. Prepare
to work finishing rib. With A, work finishing rib as follows:
Needles 1-3: K1 tbl, p1. Repeat to end of needle.
Needle 4: K1 tbl, p1 until 1 st rem on needle. K1 tbl.
Work finishing rib across all sts for 3 full rounds. Bind off
all stitches using a stretchy bind off. Proceed to Finishing
instructions.
Medium Cozy
Begin working from Medium Chart 1. Repeat across all sts to
end of round until chart is complete, changing colours when
necessary. St pattern repeats are marked in orange. Work to the
end of Round 5. The next round is an Increase Round.
First Increase Round: With C, k1, m1. [K8, m1] 7 times until 6 sts
rem. K6.
Increase Round is complete. St count has increased to 71 sts.
Begin working from Medium Chart 2.
Work Medium Chart 2 until chart is complete, up to the end of
Round 8. The next round is an Increase Round.
Second Increase Round: With A, k1, m1. [K10, m1] 7 times.
Increase Round is complete. St count has increased to 79 sts.
Begin working from Medium Chart 3.
Work Medium Chart 3 until chart is complete, up to the end of
Round 7. The next round is an Increase Round.
Third Increase Round: With E, k1, M1. [K5, m1] 14 times until 8 sts
rem. K5, m1, k3.
Increase Round is complete. St count has increased to 95 sts.
Begin working from Medium Chart 4. Work Medium Chart 4
to the end of Round 3. Colourwork portion of plant cozy is
complete. Prepare to work finishing rib. With C, work finishing
rib as follows:
Needles 1-3: K1 tbl, p1. Repeat to end of needle.
Needle 4: K1 tbl, p1 until 1 st rem on needle. K1 tbl.

First Increase Round: With B, k1, m1. [K8, m1] 11 times until 6 sts
rem. K6.
Increase Round is complete. St count has increased to 107 sts.
Begin working from Large Chart 2.
Work Large Chart 2 until chart is complete, up to the end of
Round 4. The next round is an Increase Round.
Second Increase Round: With E, k1, m1. [K7, m1] 15 times until 1 st
rem. K1.
Increase Round is complete. St count has increased to 123 sts.
Begin working from Large Chart 3.
Work Large Chart 3 until chart is complete, up to the end of
Round 8. The next round is an Increase Round.
Third Increase Round: With C, k1, m1. [K8, m1] 15 times until 2 sts
rem. K2.
Increase Round is complete. St count has increased to 139 sts.
Begin working from Large Chart 4.
Work Large Chart 4 until chart is complete, up to the end of
Round 8. The next round is an Increase Round.
Fourth Increase Round: With A, k1, m1. [K9, m1] 15 times until 3 sts
rem. K3.
Increase Round is complete. St count has increased to 155 sts.
Begin working from Large Chart 5.
Work Large Chart 5 until chart is complete, up to the end of
Round 7. The next round is an Increase Round.
Fifth Increase Round: With D, k1, m1. [K10, m1] 15 times until 4 sts

Begin working from Large Chart 6.
Work Large Chart 6 until chart is complete, up to the end of
Round 11. The next round is an Increase Round.
Sixth Increase Round: With C, k1, M1. [K11, m1] 15 times until 5 sts
rem. K5.
Increase Round is complete. St count has increased to 187 sts.
Begin working from Large Chart 7.
Work Large Chart 7 until chart is complete, up to the end of
Round 3. Colourwork portion of plant cozy is complete. Prepare
to work finishing rib. With B, work finishing rib as follows:
Needles 1-3: K1 tbl, p1. Repeat to end of needle.

Needle 4: K1 tbl, p1 until 1 st rem on needle. K1 tbl.
Work finishing rib across all sts for 5 full rounds. Bind off
all stitches using a stretchy bind off. Proceed to Finishing
instructions.
Finishing
Weave in all ends. Fold finished plant cozy in half and place
beneath a tea towel. Press lightly with an iron set to the steam
setting to steam block. After freshly steaming you may wish to
immediately dress plant pot in cozy so it retains its desired shape.
