Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Senates<br />
Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Senates help Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Commission<strong>in</strong>g Groups (CCGs), Health and Wellbe<strong>in</strong>g Boards (HWBs) and NHS<br />
<strong>England</strong>, to make <strong>the</strong> best decisions about healthcare for <strong>the</strong> populations <strong>the</strong>y represent by provid<strong>in</strong>g advice and<br />
leadership at a strategic level. Senates consist <strong>of</strong> cl<strong>in</strong>icians, patients and o<strong>the</strong>r partners, who will give advice to<br />
commissioners and providers <strong>in</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir area. The <strong>East</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>England</strong> Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Senate comprises a Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Senate<br />
Council and a wider Cl<strong>in</strong>ical Senate Assembly. Senate Council is <strong>the</strong> multi-pr<strong>of</strong>essional ‘steer<strong>in</strong>g group’ <strong>of</strong> cl<strong>in</strong>ical<br />
senate, led by an <strong>in</strong>dependently appo<strong>in</strong>ted chair Dr Bernard Brett.<br />
