<strong>Dreamweaving</strong> <strong>Open</strong> <strong>Educational</strong> <strong>Practices</strong><br />

M.N. Chandana Fernando, MA (London), PGDE (Colombo), BSc (Hons.) (OUSL), is a<br />

lecturer (Probationary) attached to the Department of Secondary and Tertiary Education<br />

at the <strong>Open</strong> University of Sri Lanka, serving since 2010. Formerly, he has<br />

served at the National Institute of Education as a curriculum development officer<br />

for ten years. His academic and research interests include Primary and Mathematics<br />

Education, Assessment and Evaluation in Education and students’ learning attitudes.<br />

K. Gnaneratnam, M.Phil(Eastern), M.Ed (OUSL), PGDE (Colombo), B.Sc(Eastern) is a<br />

lecturer (Probationary) attached to the Department of Secondary and Tertiary Education<br />

at the <strong>Open</strong> University of Sri Lanka, serving since 2010. he has 25 years of<br />

service in the field of education as a school Science Graduate teacher. His academic<br />

and research interests include Mathematics Education, Measerment and Evaluation<br />

in Education , <strong>Educational</strong> Psychology and <strong>Educational</strong> Technology .<br />

L. Ranjan Gonsalkorale, MPhil (OUSL), MA in Dist. Ed, (IGNOU), PGDDE (IGNOU),<br />

PGDE (OUSL), BSc (Hons.) (SJP), is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Secondary<br />

and Tertiary Education at the <strong>Open</strong> University of Sri Lanka. He has more than 27<br />

years of working experience in the <strong>Open</strong> and Distance Learning system. His professional<br />

and research interests are in the areas of <strong>Open</strong> and Distance Learning, <strong>Educational</strong><br />

Management, <strong>Educational</strong> Evaluation, and Sexuality Education.<br />

Shironica P. Karunanayaka, EdD (Wollongong), PGDE (Colombo), BSc(Hons.) (OUSL),<br />

is Professor in <strong>Educational</strong> Technology in the Department of Secondary and Tertiary<br />

Education at the <strong>Open</strong> University of Sri Lanka. She is the former Dean of the Faculty<br />

of Education and former Head of the Department of Secondary and Tertiary Education<br />

at OUSL. She has been serving as an academic at OUSL since 1993. She also<br />

has experience as a Science trained teacher at the secondary school system for 10<br />

years. Her professional expertise and research interests include <strong>Open</strong> and Distance<br />

Learning, <strong>Educational</strong> Technology, Information and Communication Technology in<br />

Education, Instructional Design, e-Learning, <strong>Open</strong> <strong>Educational</strong> Resources and <strong>Open</strong><br />

<strong>Educational</strong> <strong>Practices</strong>.<br />

Sasheeka Karunanayake, MEd (Colombo), BEd(Hons.) (Colombo), LLB (OUSL),<br />

Attorney-at-Law, is a Senior Lecturer attached to the Department of Secondary<br />

and Tertiary Education at the <strong>Open</strong> University of Sri Lanka. She has been serving<br />

as an academic at OUSL since 2006. Her research and academic interests include<br />

<strong>Educational</strong> Leadership, Organizational Behavior and <strong>Open</strong> and Distance Learning.<br />

Sasikala Kugamoorthy, PhD (Alagappa), MPhil (Jaffna), PGDE (Jaffna), BA(Hons.)<br />

(Peradeniya), is a Senior Lecturer and is currently serving as the Head of the Department<br />

of Secondary and Tertiary Education at the <strong>Open</strong> University of Sri Lanka. She<br />

has 32 years of experience in teaching at the Secondary and Tertiary level education<br />

system. She has been serving as an academic at OUSL since 2004. Her professional<br />
