STAVANGER <strong>GOLF</strong>KLUBB<br />
Stavanger Golf Club is situated a mere 5 km from<br />
Norways oil capital and former fishing town of the same<br />
name. Having been founded in 1956, Stavanger is one of<br />
Norway’s oldest golf clubs lying in the quiet neighbourhood<br />
of ‘Store Stokkavann’ lake in breathtaking natural<br />
surroundings where fjords, mountains and long, white<br />
beaches compete for the visitors attention.<br />
The tree-lined course, designed by British architect Fred<br />
Smith, is of a relatively tight layout demanding a good<br />
eye and a precise tee shot. Numerous elevated tees,<br />
small greens, strategically placed bunkers and undulating<br />
fairways add to the test while blending smoothly into<br />
the beautiful natural vegetation of pine and fir. Thanks to<br />
its climate and location by the waterfront, the Stavanger<br />
course poses a windy challenge accompanied by magnificently<br />
diversified views across the landscape.<br />
The Stavanger course has been ranked among the<br />
nation's best for years and many national and international<br />
championships have been held here. Besides<br />
professional services like a TrackMan 4 simulator, an<br />
indoor putting green, professional coaching and a pro<br />
shop, Stavanger Golf Club welcomes guests in the<br />
Farmhouse Restaurant, which serves a variety of international<br />
foods as well as local specialties.<br />
Stavanger Golfklubb, stiftet 5.april 1956, er landets nest<br />
eldste 18 hulls golfbane (1963). Stavanger Golfklubb ligger<br />
idyllisk til ved Store Stokkavatn, kun 5 kilometer fra Stavanger<br />
sentrum. Banen, par 71 og i underkant av 6000 meter, er<br />
kompakt og gir utfordringer og spilleglede både for nybegynner,<br />
den mer etablerte og profesjonelle golfspilleren. En<br />
trelinjet design av arkitekt Fred Smith gjør at man trenger ett<br />
godt øye og ett presist utslag. Små greener,forhøyede tee<br />
steder og vell plasserte bunkere gjøre denne banen til en god<br />
test av ditt golfspill. Takket være vårt klima på vest-kysten<br />
av Norge gjør at denne banen kan øke i vanskelighet når<br />
vinden tar seg opp.<br />
Stavanger Golfklubb har blitt rangert blant Norges beste<br />
baner flere år på rad, og flere mesterskap har blitt arrangert<br />
her. Ved siden av profesjonelle tilbud som PGA utdannete<br />
trenere, Trackman 4 simulator, innendørs puttegreen og<br />
Pro Shop, ønsker Stavanger Golfklubb velkommen til vår<br />
