The launch of the Men’s EHF EURO 1994 in Portugal
proved more challenging than the start of the first women’s
event in Germany. After the competitions had been
moved to winter and the number of entrants increased to
16, both the men‘s and the women‘s events flourished.
Today, the EHF EUROs are outstanding events with
a fantastic reach among television audiences.
