Today is the Day<br />
I had the time<br />
but I blew it<br />
Social project due tomorrow<br />
Man screw it<br />
Video games, TV, phones, procrast<strong>in</strong>ation,<br />
This is what’s taken over our generation<br />
Leav<strong>in</strong>g us as a helpless nation.<br />
I had the knowledge<br />
but I refused to use it<br />
All the po<strong>in</strong>tless th<strong>in</strong>gs we learn <strong>in</strong> school<br />
Mak<strong>in</strong>g me feel like a damn fool.<br />
I resort to smok<strong>in</strong>g because it made me feel so cool.<br />
Without realiz<strong>in</strong>g that I’m jeopardiz<strong>in</strong>g my future<br />
As I’m terroriz<strong>in</strong>g the little man who says he can.<br />
From this day on if I don’t have the time<br />
I’m gonna MAKE IT!<br />
Because if there’s an opportunity<br />
I’m gonna TAKE IT!<br />
This is my second chance<br />
I a<strong>in</strong>’t gonna WASTE IT!<br />
I may not have the support anymore<br />
But my confidence is here for sure.<br />
I had the support<br />
but I ignored it<br />
Everyone tell<strong>in</strong>g me I can do it<br />
I never thought they were be<strong>in</strong>g legit<br />
And because of that I could never take a hit.<br />
Because of all that the little man <strong>in</strong>side me chooses<br />
To use all these excuses<br />
Because he refuses to lose his<br />
DIGNITY!<br />
There’s always gonna be another tomorrow<br />
But there is never gonna be another yesterday<br />
So <strong>in</strong>stead of do<strong>in</strong>g it later how about we start today.<br />
