1) Workshop at UN DPI/NGO Conference in South Korea<br />
Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (<strong>KISS</strong>) was allotted a slot to conduct a workshop at <strong>the</strong><br />
66th United Nations Department of Public<br />
Information (DPI)/ Non-Governmental<br />
Organization (NGO) Conference scheduled to be<br />
held in Gyeongju, Republic of Korea from May<br />
30 to June 1, 2016. The Conference, being held in<br />
<strong>the</strong> first year of <strong>the</strong> Sustainable Development<br />
Goals (SDGs), had “Education for Global<br />
Citizenship: Achieving <strong>the</strong> Sustainable<br />
Development Goals Toge<strong>the</strong>r” as its focal <strong>the</strong>me. Impact of <strong>KISS</strong> being shared at <strong>the</strong> Conference<br />

Association of World Citizens also attended <strong>the</strong> workshop.<br />
<strong>KISS</strong> representatives met <strong>the</strong> Under-Secretary General,<br />
UN DPI Ms. Christina Gallach, and showcased <strong>KISS</strong><br />
video. She mentioned that <strong>KISS</strong> is at <strong>the</strong> right forum<br />
and conference as it addressed “Education for global<br />
citizenship”.<br />

<strong>KISS</strong> representatives met Dr. Scott Carlin, Co-chair, of<br />
<strong>the</strong> 66th UN DPI/NGO. He is also Associate Professor<br />
of Geography at LIU Post, Brookville, New York, USA.<br />
