is hard to believe we are already
one month into 2016. Good luck
to all our high school seniors as
they hear from different colleges
throughout the country. Our
students are being accepted into
some impressive universities. As
the old saying goes, “hard work

I am proud to report that the City of Parkland was voted by
the online financial and lifestyle site WalletHub as the Best
City in Florida to raise a family. Speaking with our longterm
residents, I can see the pride they have in the City of
Parkland. As I meet and talk with new residents, they tell
me that some of the things that attract them to Parkland
are our great parks and open spaces, highly rated schools,
and the overall sense of community throughout the City.
Thank you for everyone involved with making Parkland so
desirable. Each year we seem to get better and better! We
are continuing to work hard to provide high-quality services
and offerings for our residents. From the Farmers Markets
to our senior programs, teen groups, “buddy” programs,
there truly is something for everyone to get involved with.
I encourage people to frequently check our website www.
cityofparkland.org for different listings of our events.
I am happy to report that we have officially opened the
“new” Parkland Community Center. Our city staff has done
a fantastic job with the opening of this facility. I encourage
everyone to stay up to date with the different program
offerings. We are truly trying to make this a facility that
offers something for everyone. As of this writing there will
be cooking classes, dance classes, senior programs, and
child care offered. We are trying to make this a first-class
community center and something that all the residents can
be proud of.
Between the Community Center, our great Municipal
Library, and our parks and recreation offerings, there is
some really great programming being offered throughout
Parkland. I encourage everyone to continue to take
advantage of the different programs. P
