All arena officials must be thoroughly conversant with all games<br />

rules and procedures and the positioning of equipment and must be<br />

members of the Mounted Games Association of their home country.<br />

ARENA OFFICIALS AND PROCEDURES<br />

The arena officials are:<br />

the Referee<br />

the assistant referees<br />

the equipment marshal and the equipment arena party<br />

the judge and at least one judge's writer<br />

the commentator<br />

The Referee must ensure fair play throughout the<br />

competition.<br />

Every Referee must discuss assistant referees' fault calls<br />

before making his/her decision. If rejecting a fault call, the<br />

Referee must give his/her reason for doing this to the<br />

assistant referee concerned.<br />

All decisions of the Referee are final.<br />

The Referee may inspect any rider, pony or tack at any<br />

time.<br />

The Referee is also the starter.<br />

Every effort must be made by the Referee to give a fair<br />

start.<br />

The Referee, in consultation with the competition<br />

organiser, may substitute a race if it is deemed necessary<br />

for any reason.<br />

Referees should be at least 18 years of age on the date<br />

of the competition<br />
