LOOKING INSIDE FOR BEST PRACTICES
Project ”Valorização”
2016 has been special for the Aerosol unit in Brazil, in special
due to the consistent results from the turnaround project,
started in 2015.
The company mobilized all efforts and worked hard to reverse
a difficult situation, which consisted of instable results
in productivity, costs, safety, quality and no profits since
started its operations in 2012.
In 2015, the management team launched the project “Valorização”
(“Enhancement” in Portuguese).
Initially oriented by consulting services, and with support
from Colep worldwide, they mapped out the main issues,
defined critical projects, implemented an information system
and KPIs, took corrective actions, and intensified training,
resulting in:
• Zero LTA since April 2015;
• 99% level of attendance to the production plan;
• OEE increased to an average level of 70%.
Congratulations to the team in Brazil for the outstanding
results!
Creativity Training
Focusing on creativity and relationships with customers, our
team in the UK planned a training with the aim of strengthening
presentation skills as well as building and using creativity
tools to support approach.
In an environment of openness and favourable to creativity,
the trainees were pulled away from their comfort zone and
addressed out-of-the-box questions like “How to increase
Value to Customer X” and “What are our main concerns
when we are presenting?”. The reasons for the creation of a
Marketing & Innovation department and the need for such
area in Colep were also an important chapter to mention
and, finally, the trainees had to do an individual and an in
group assignment.
