of our property burned down. When their insurance was settled
they cleared a huge lot and began to build. They built a much
larger business, but they also built a much larger parking lot and
covered it with beautiful blacktop.
The Lord still had not got through my thick head until the
owners came over after it was built. They said, “We want you to
know that the parking lot is there for you to use as much as you
want.” We rejoiced! In addition, their business was closed at the
time of all our services. Never did we have another problem with
parking, and it did not cost us one dime!
God took care of our problem with no “sweat” to us. My
“sweat” to buy the building next door would have put us in debt,
and the parking would not have been sufficient anyway. God had
a “sweatless” way!
Why Not Sweat?
The very act of sweating is indicative of human effort. Jesus
said, “I can of Myself do nothing...” John 5:30. And “...The
words I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority
(initiative); but the Father who dwells in Me does the work”
John 14:10.
The instructions to the Levitical priests were prophetic
words for the New Testament Church. They could not be clothed
with anything that caused sweat.
“And it shall be, whenever they enter the gates of the
inner court, that they shall put on linen garments; no wool
shall come upon them while they minister within the gates
of the inner court or within the house. They shall have
linen turbans on their heads and linen trousers on their
bodies; they shall not clothe themselves with anything that
causes sweat”
Ezekiel 44:17-18.
Sweat was not allowed in the presence of God as the priest
ministered. Linen always represents righteousness (Revelation
19:8). Linen turbans were on their heads. This typifies yielding
