Letter From the Principal
Mele Kalikimaka and Hauoli La
Hanau! I am so blessed to look back
on this past year and see what great
things God has done. He has
brought the increase in our student
body by bringing us new teachers,
families, and now friends to this
ministry. I am so blessed to have
met each one of you and I pray we
will remain an Ohana for years to come. I am so proud of
the work the students have done and am excited to see
what they will do in the next semester. When we get back
from Christmas break we will have a full calendar of events
from Open House to Spring Break. I pray that the love of
Jesus Christ finds you this Christmas and that you will be
filled with the Holy Spirit and ready to serve Him this new
year. Lanakila Baptist Church will remain a refuge for the
lost and hurting, and a home for believers who need a
Christ –filled loving place too worship. Please join us as we
worship Christ the King.

You’re Invited
We would like to extend a warm

Candlelight Service. It is our time to
remember that Jesus is the Reason for
the Season. Services begins at 6:00 pm.
Taste of Waipahu
This annual community event highlights
the best in our community through
businesses, restaurants and schools.
Lanakila has been highlighted as one of
those bests. This year’s Akamai Club
joined in representing us.

2 ND QUARTER HIGHLIGHTS
Little School Has A Big Heart
Lanakila Baptist Church and School is 50 years old, and
has been donating food to various missions for at least
the last 14 years. This year it collected 19,387 lbs of
food. This couldn’t be done without the support of
our church and school families. May God richly bless
you!
Operation Shoebox
The elementary students packed 91 shoeboxes
full of Christmas gifts and sent them overseas
to be distributed worldwide via Operation
Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s
Purse.
Christmas Play
Friday, December 2 nd , the elementary presented
Christmas Hang-ups, a musical by Dennis & Nan
Allen. Our all star cast, Kalamela Dusza, Jessica
Ancheta, John Lawrence Pagulayan, Augrey
McKinney, Marielle Lopez, Tyler Geronimo, Sophia
Gonzales, Kaleb Hicling, Faith Jones, Dale Oniate,
along with our kindergarten ornaments, and our
entire student body singing praise, truly was a
blessing! Hats off to our students.
Piano Recital
Thursday, December 15 th , our piano students demonstrated their
proficiency on the piano. Whether they are new at the keyboard or
have been taking lessons for a while, they did a wonderful job. We
appreciate the wonderful job Liuba Pupo Ortega has done in training
them.
Waipahu Christmas Parade
Saturday, December 10 th , many of our 4 th -6 th
joined in the Christmas fun at this year’s
Waipahu Christmas Parade. They shared candy,
warm smiles, and shaka waves along the parade
route, but the best part...they reminded people
to share Christ this Christmas! All the presents
in the world have no lasting value. Salvation is
only through Christ. The greatest gift of all.
