Q: Amongst the many challenges this<br />
industry is facing, how was the year<br />
2016 for Batelco, and what are your<br />
expectations for 2017?<br />
A: 2016 has been a very successful year<br />
for Batelco, with the inclusion <strong>of</strong> new<br />
certifications and partnerships coupled<br />
with product and service launches. During<br />
the year, Batelco successfully launched<br />
the most advanced 4G+ digital network in<br />
<strong>Bahrain</strong> with super-fast speeds. In 2016 we<br />
became <strong>of</strong>ficially certified by Avaya as a<br />
Platinum Certified Partner, in recognition <strong>of</strong><br />
our commitment, investment, experience<br />
and dedication to customer satisfaction.<br />
Additionally, we also launched WiFi and<br />
were the only telecom to <strong>of</strong>fer superfast<br />
500Mbps fibre internet with the highest<br />
thresholds. Furthermore, in 2016 Batelco<br />
signed a memorandum <strong>of</strong> understanding<br />
for 5G with Ericsson to drive innovation and<br />
early loT applications on 5G mobile network<br />
technology.<br />
In 2017 we expect to see integration<br />
with key players in the industry such as<br />
