Q: Amongst the many challenges this
industry is facing, how was the year
2016 for Batelco, and what are your
expectations for 2017?
A: 2016 has been a very successful year
for Batelco, with the inclusion of new
certifications and partnerships coupled
with product and service launches. During
the year, Batelco successfully launched
the most advanced 4G+ digital network in
Bahrain with super-fast speeds. In 2016 we
became officially certified by Avaya as a
Platinum Certified Partner, in recognition of
our commitment, investment, experience
and dedication to customer satisfaction.
Additionally, we also launched WiFi and
were the only telecom to offer superfast
500Mbps fibre internet with the highest
thresholds. Furthermore, in 2016 Batelco
signed a memorandum of understanding
for 5G with Ericsson to drive innovation and
early loT applications on 5G mobile network
technology.
In 2017 we expect to see integration
with key players in the industry such as
