Caruso, along with Hollywood star Vin Diesel and 

Indian actress Deepika Padukone were welcomed 

with dhol, 'tutari' and 'tilak'. They arrived to a typical 

desi fanfare of women dressed in traditional Marathi 

nauvari (nine-yard) saris and yellow turbans. 

"The greatest welcome ever! 'XXX India Premiere. 

Wow and a blessing to go with it," Caruso tweeted on Monday. 

The mania was overwhelming for the director as he also shared 

on Twitter an image featuring an enthusiastic cameraman who is 

seen trying to capture Deepika and Diesel from his bike. 

"Deepika Padukone and Vin Diesel chased by photographers on 

streets of Mumbai. I am in car behind them," Caruso tweeted. 

Diesel's two-day India trip is packed with fan meets, music and 

drama. He is promoting "xXx: Return of Xander Cage", which is 

releasing in India on Friday -- before anywhere else in the world. 

He has a packed itinerary full of fan interactions, a glitzy red carpet 

gala and a star-studded premiere. 

According to sources, plans are in place to give Diesel a "splendid 

taste of India" -- and the start has been in tune with that. 

The actors, along with other members of the film's cast and crew, 

have been on an extensive worldwide promotional spree to promote 

the film. They visited London and Mexico before coming to 

India. 

The movie is a new instalment in the "xXX" series after the 2002 

film "xXx" and the 2005 entertainer "xXx: State of the Union". It 

also stars Ruby Rose, Samuel L Jackson, Donnie Yen and Tony 

Jaa.

of 28 and fully recovered, Kanika is the Founder and CEO of

80% of India’s private jet and helicopter fleets. JetSetGo is considered

and helicopters that enables the users to search and charter aircrafts 

across India. She started her company in the year 2013 and it has 

been growing ever since. 

Kanika Tekriwal is from Bhopal and an alumna of the Jawaharlal Nehru 

School, BHEL. She finished her graduation in Mumbai and MBA in

I always had a passion to help people. I felt that 

was my purpose in life and this is how my calling to 

natural medicine began. 

16 years ago I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, 

Rheumatoid Arthritis, Lupus, multiple spine 

disorders including Spondylitis 

Scoliosis. Life seemed to come to an 

end for me because I was bed-ridden 

and summoned to a wheelchair. I 

was in constant agonising pain. My 

condition was worsening and it felt 

larger than life. Conventional medicine gave 

me no solution. At the time I was 27 years young 

with four beautiful children and a loving husband. I 

knew that I had to find a solution for my condition 

because I had alot left to achieve in life and besides 

my husband and kids needed me. My faith always 

reminded me that everything happens for a reason. 

Behind all adversity is a reward from Almighty. 

Almighty will never ever present a problem without 

a solution. 

I started searching for answers and through 

prayer and determination I was led to a Russian 

naturopath that had this amazing machine 

which he used as a diagnosis tool. This 

diagnosis tool assisted him in finding the root 

cause of my condition. He was able to inform me 

on my first visit about the viruses, bacteria, fungus 

and pathogens that had caused my problem. I was 

also told that my colon and liver was totally blocked 

with toxins and poisons. 

This was a miracle discovery for me from Almighty 

as for the first time I was told the root cause for 

my illness. These tests discovered that part of 

my diseases were passed down from ancestral 

generations, from my mother’s womb in the form of 

parasites which resulted in some of my complaints. 

I was than given my treatment protocol which 

entailed Quantam healing , change in lifestyle and 

most of all I was given Glyconutrients to support my 

immune system, support my cell function, repairing 

of my gut by way of detoxes and continuous liver 

detoxes. After six weeks into the treatment I did not 

require any morphine or any pain killers. 

Thus finding and alternative root was my only 

solution. Finding the cause and getting rid of the 

symptoms was and is the most rewarding portion of 

my career. I’m now cured for the past 16 years with 

renewed health. I always knew that all diseases 

started in the colon and cleansing your colon and 

all organs you can get rid of diseases for longer. 

This was a turning point in my life, and my getting 

totally healed inspired me in pursuing the natural 

medicine pathway for the past 12 years. 

My method of testing is accurate and my treatment 

protocols are specific to each individual and tested 

before administering, thus obtaining the best results 

for my patients. I have helped the most challenged 

patients from all over the world. I travel extensively 

to neighbouring countries as I have individuals 

that are critically ill without any solution. Recently 

I visited Malawi for a wedding reception and met 

with some of my patients that I have treated 8 and 

9 years ago with breast cancer, strokes, spinal 

problems, infertility, arthritis etc. 

To this day they are still well and have introduced 

many more patients because they believe in our 

treatment. All credit goes to Almighty creator who 

allows healing through my hands. 

My vision is to create confidence in my patients. 

To “believe” that by applying my treatments as a 

lifestyle they would be able to live a healthy and 

balanced life once again. 

I would love to live my purpose, by touching as 

many lives as I can by treating as many illnesses as 

possible and heal my patients fully to restore them

anniversary event and call for a fair chance for 

every child. UNICEF commemorated 70 years 

of tireless work for children today with the 

help of some of the organization’s best-known 

Goodwill Ambassadors and celebrity advocates 

at a ‘children’s takeover’ event co-hosted by 

12-year-old Millie Bobby Brown and featuring 

children and young people who have benefited 

directly from UNICEF’s efforts. 

The celebration at United Nations headquarters 

in New York featured UNICEF Goodwill 

Ambassadors Ishmael Beah, David Beckham, 

Orlando Bloom, Jackie Chan, Angelique Kidjo, 

Femi Kuti, and world-renowned actress and 

girls’ rights advocate Priyanka Chopra, whose 

appointment as UNICEF’s newest global 

Goodwill Ambassador was announced at the 

event. 

“My involvement with UNICEF began almost 10 

years ago in India. Today, I stand here humbled, 

enriched and committed, because of it. Thank 

you, UNICEF, for the amazing journey so 

far as well as this huge honor,” said UNICEF 

Goodwill Ambassador Priyanka Chopra. “Along 

this decade old journey, with UNICEF, I have 

been on many field trips to villages and centers 

across India. On those trips, I spent time with 

numerous young girls and their families and 

experienced firsthand the transformative power 

of empowering young girls with opportunities 

that are rightfully theirs. Together, with my 

fellow, dedicated ambassadors, I am now 

proud to stand with UNICEF to help build a 

world where children’s rights are respected and 

protected.” 

Ms. Chopra has served as a UNICEF 

national ambassador in India, where she 

has been an intrepid advocate for girls and 

adolescents. Celebrating her appointment, 

UNICEF Executive Director Anthony Lake 

said, “Priyanka Chopra is already a champion 

for India’s children -- and as a UNICEF global 

Goodwill Ambassador, she will be a force for 

children and adolescents everywhere.” 

The anniversary celebration, which was led by 

the next generation of young celebrities and 

other young people, powerfully demonstrated 

the impact of UNICEF’s work over seven 

decades to protect the rights of the world’s most 

vulnerable children. 

“This celebration of UNICEF’s 70th anniversary 

belongs to those for whom UNICEF was 

created in the first place: children. And it also 

belongs to the thousands of UNICEF staff 

and our partners whose work in some of the 

world’s most dangerous and difficult places 

has touched the lives of millions of children. 

What can be more important?” said UNICEF 

Executive Director Anthony Lake. 

People’s Choice nominee and star of hit 

television series Stranger Things Millie Bobby 

Brown served as the evening’s co-host and 

interviewed international soccer star David 

Beckham about what he has seen and learned 

over the course of his 11-years as a Goodwill 

Ambassador. Rising young Broadway star Akira 

Golz and UNICEF Youth Advocate Chen Lin 

were also co-hosts at the event. Together they 

represented the future of UNICEF and its work 

for every child. 

Orquestra Crianca Cidada, a 37-member 

Brazilian children’s orchestra, kicked off the 

evening’s performances. UNICEF Goodwill 

Ambassadors and international music stars 

Angelique Kidjo and Femi Kuti performed 

together onstage with Kids United, a French 

musical group of children aged between 8 and 

16 years. 

UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Orlando Bloom 

conducted an onstage discussion with child 

refugee Mustafa Al Said, who fled conflict in 

his native Syria and now lives in Germany. 

UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Ishmael Beah 

spoke about his experience as a child soldier in 

Sierra Leone and his work advocating against 

the recruitment of children into armed groups. 

The programme also featured Juan Carlos, 

a 27-year-old lawyer from El Salvador, who 

recalled how UNICEF helped him after he lost 

his limbs when he stepped on a buried landmine 

at the age of five years old. He now advocates 

for the rights of children with disabilities, working 

to help break down the barriers and inequities 

they often face. 

Livey Van Wyk, a mother living with HIV, spoke 

about her experience fighting stigma, She was 

accompanied on stage by her 13-year-old son, 

who is HIV-negative thanks to UNICEF’s work 

in Namibia to prevent HIV transmission from 

mothers to their babies. 

Today, the Empire State Building in New York 

marked UNICEF’s 70th anniversary by lighting 

the tower UNICEF-blue. The lights were 

switched on by UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador 

David Beckham. 

“UNICEF was established to bring help and 

hope to children whose lives and futures were 

at risk. Our mission is no less urgent today,” 

said Mr. Lake. “As UNICEF gives children hope, 

children are the world’s hope for a better future 

-- for all of us.”

PADMANABH BENDRE’S 

‘TIMELESS SPACE’ EXHIBITION 

From pointillism to figurative works to graphic-collage 

works with canvas on plywood that can be equated 

to inlay work, artist Padmanabh Bendre in three decades 

has reinvented himself at every step. The current 

exhibition titled Timeless Space brings to life, the 

works of the veteran artist across 30 years, with his 

current works taking centre stage. Pooja Bedi, Mukesh Rishi and 

Raghav Rishi inaugurated the show while other guests included 

singer Mudasir Ali and artists Devyani Pareek, Vishwa Sahni, Gautam 

Mukherjee, Sonu Gupta. The veteran painter’s wife Shraddha 

Bendre, son Chirayu Bendre and daughter-in-law Sonia Bendre 

were also present at the do that was held at Jehangir Art Gallery, 

Kala Ghoda. 

An interesting technique invented by Bendre who is incidentally 

also an architect and town planner by qualification, the current series 

are result of painstaking work. First, the artist creates his layered 

works on canvas. Then he cuts them and from three to four 

paintings, lets the triangles and squares create their own colourco-ordinated 

spaces and emerge as unique forms on plywood. For, 

Bendre finds great excitement in communicating through the element 

of graphic forms, complete with negative and positive forms 

and spaces. 

An avid golfer for the last two and half decades, Bendre seeks 

his inspiration from the nature and the vast expanse of the lush 

greens, an unending motivator for both his passions – golf and art. 

Each work of Bendre takes a minimum of three weeks of painstaking 

work, if not more. And start from 18” x 18” and can go up to 7 ft 

x 3 ft. “My works are not pre-planned. I simply piece them together 

from the colours that are layered and they speak a language of 

their own,” says Bendre, who admits that this was merely an experiment 

with art that made him evolve. And that it found takers in 

likeminded architects and interior designers is merely incidental. 

“As an artist, you merely create and enjoy the process. When people 

love it, you feel good,” says Bendre simply as he begins experimenting 

on his next series with enamel on copper.

Favourite brands: “Zara for casual clothing; Hermes and Chanel for bags. If you tell me there’s no cap on my shopping

Bag it: “I’ve been collecting bags for the last 15 years. In Kuwait, I have six cupboards full of them. I like spacious bags;

her 42nd birthday, Akshay whisked the whole 

family and friends off to Cape Town in South 

Africa, one of the favourite vacation spots of 

the duo. 

Amid languid lunches and memorable moments, 

Akshay wished his better half on social 

media. Taking to Instagram, he wrote, 

“Your love, humour and madness make me 

keep falling in love with you every single

The family has been in South Africa for some 

days now and are expected to spend New 

Year there as well. Twinkle, however, was in

a unique new waterfront 

destination that will feature the Middle East and 

North Africa (MENA) region’s largest marina. 

The announcement was made in the presence 

of Crown Prince of Dubai His Highness 

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid 

Al Maktoum; President of Dubai Civil Aviation 

Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive of 

Emirates Airline and Group HH Sheikh Ahmed 

bin Saeed Al Maktoum; Chairman of Dubai International 

Marine Club HH Sheikh Mansour 

bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; Director 

General of Dubai Protocol Department HE 

Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman; and Group Chairman 

of Meraas HE Abdulla Al Habbai. 

The project, located on King Salman bin Abdulaziz 

Al Saud Street, in the area between Jumeirah 

Beach Residence and Palm Jumeirah, also 

known as Mina Al Seyahi, will be developed by 

Dubai’s leading holding company Meraas. 

The iconic luxury waterfront destination, spread 

over 20 million sq. feet, will include a 1400-berth 

marina as well as a cruise ship port and terminal, 

a shopping mall covering 3.5 million sq. 

feet, an events arena, luxurious residential 

buildings, hotels, offices, retail stores, public 

services, restaurants and cafes and ‘Dubai 

Lighthouse’. 

The masterplan of the new destination integrates 

Skydive Dubai, Dubai International Marine 

Club (DIMC) and Logo Island into a single 

community. To be developed in phases, the 

‘Dubai Harbour’ project will be completed in four 

years once ground has been broken. 

HH Sheikh Mohammed said: “We are happy 

that this new project, which represents a unique 

and innovative new addition to the region’s tourism 

landscape, opens up a range of new opportunities 

to investors. ‘Dubai Harbour’ creates 

a venue for new investments that support our 

vision for this important sector and promises to 

further accelerate the expansion of the tourism 

industry in the UAE, which is already growing 

rapidly. I am confident that the project will have 

a highly positive impact on our entire region’s 

tourism sector. We are keen to encourage new 

projects and promote investments that will contribute 

to bringing to the region more tourists 

interested in experiencing this part of the world.” 

His Highness noted that this project is inspired 

by the Gulf’s long maritime tradition, which has 

been inextricably linked to the evolution of trade 

and commerce in the region. 

“Our region has had a long and historic relationship 

with the sea, and today we are seeing another 

initiative inspired by this age-old tradition 

that opens up new horizons for development. 

We have great aspirations for the tourism sector, 

which is one of the main pillars of our economic 

development and an important source of 

national income,” His Highness added. 

The unique destination, which adds a new dimension 

to Dubai’s flourishing tourism industry, 

is set to further enhance Dubai's position 

as a leading global hub for maritime tourism. 

The project will create synergies with some of 

Dubai’s other iconic projects located in the area 

including Palm Jumeirah and the upcoming 

Bluewaters Island project. 

‘Dubai Harbour’ is also set to enhance the city’s 

profile as a magnet for wealth and investment. 

The project promises to be an attractive destination 

for GCC yacht owners, who own one 

third of the world’s largest superyachts. 

‘Dubai Harbour’ will be accessible by land, sea 

and air. Additionally, the project will be linked 

through state of the art infrastructure to Sheikh 

Zayed Road, Palm Jumeirah, King Salman bin 

Abdulaziz Al Saud Street and Bluewaters Island. 

Group Chairman of Meraas HE Abdulla Al Habbai 

said: “The ‘Dubai Harbour’ project has been 

launched in response to the vision of His Highness 

Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid to create 

a culture of innovation to support the country’s

‘Dubai Harbour’ is anticipated to create new 

employment opportunities and attract substantial 

investments. The destination is also expected 

to have an incremental impact on the value 

of neighboring properties. 

Integrated transport infrastructure 

Meraas will work closely with various Dubai 

government entities, in particular with RTA, to 

deliver a futuristic infrastructure that connects 

‘Dubai Harbour’ to the surrounding areas and 

provides multi-mode transport systems within 

the development. Visitors can access ‘Dubai 

Harbour’ either from King Salman bin Abdulaziz 

Al Saud Street, a bridge that connects them directly 

from Sheikh Zayed Road or the monorail 

system that will link to the metro from both Palm 

Jumeirah and Bluewaters Island. A pedestrian 

bridge with a jogging and cycling track will also 

connect ‘Dubai Harbour’ to Palm Jumeirah. 

The project will also feature water stations in 

various areas of the destination. Key ones to be 

built under the shopping mall and select hotels 

will offer direct access to the buildings. The water 

stations will play a major role in facilitating 

water transportation in the area. The project will 

also have three helipads. 

Meraas will work closely with the Dubai Civil 

Aviation Authority and Skydive Dubai to conduct 

feasibility studies to assess the possibility of using 

the landing site at Skydive to accommodate 

private jets. 

Additionally, ‘Dubai Harbour’ will offer a high 

quality internal transport network and a connected 

road grid and monorail system that can 

transport passengers between different areas 

of the destination such as the cruise terminal, 

the hotels, the yacht club, the shopping mall, 

Skydive Dubai and the ‘Dubai Lighthouse’. The 

project’s roads will be designed to enable the 

destination to host Formula races. A pedestrian 

bridge will also be constructed linking the 

yacht club area to the shopping mall and Skydive. 

Jogging and cycling tracks will be spread 

across the project. 

Biggest marina in MENA 

The project will feature a 1400 berth marina, the 

biggest in the MENA region. To be managed by 

one of the world’s best marina operators, it will 

offer world-class services and maintenance facilities 

to boat owners and guests, apart from 

providing permits to sail in coordination with 

other marinas and international ports. 

The destination will expand Dubai’s yacht capacity 

by 50% from the current 3000 berths. 

The new marina at ‘Dubai Harbour’ will particularly 

appeal to owners of large yachts, since 

yachts up to 85 metres in length can dock at its 

premises. 

Maritime tourism 

‘Dubai Harbour’ will play a vital role in raising 

Dubai’s global profile as a cruise ship hub. 

‘Dubai Harbour’ will have a fully equipped urban 

port to welcome global cruise liners and a fully 

serviced and state-of-the art passenger terminal, 

offering a duty free shopping experience. 

The terminal can accommodate 6000 passengers 

at one time. The destination’s various luxury 

facilities, and entertainment, leisure and retail 

offerings will offer cruise passengers a unique 

entry experience. The new passenger terminal, 

spanning an area of 150,000 sq. feet, will attract 

tourists due to its unique location between Palm 

Jumeirah and ‘Ain Dubai’, two of Dubai’s iconic 

landmarks. 

Meraas has commenced discussions with four 

of the leading global cruise liners with the aim of 

offering a strong value proposition for this sector. 

The company will also tap opportunities presented 

by Emirates Airlines, which carried 52 

million passengers in the fiscal year 2015/2016. 

The project will help Dubai tap the vast growth 

opportunities in the maritime tourism industry. 

In 2017, Dubai is expected to receive 650,000 

maritime travellers, while 25.3 million passengers 

are expected to sail around the world, according 

to a report published recently by the 

Cruise Line International Association (CLIA), 

the world's largest cruise industry trade association. 

The advanced infrastructure and worldclass 

services offered by ‘Dubai Harbour’ is 

expected to stimulate a 100% increase in the 

number of maritime travellers to Dubai following 

the completion of the project. 

A vibrant waterfront destination and a new 

iconic landmark 

‘Dubai Harbour’ is an integrated destination 

that will offer its residents and visitors an affluent 

lifestyle experience. The new development 

will offer unparalleled views of Dubai’s skyline, 

the clear waters of the Arabian Gulf and ‘Ain 

Dubai’, the world’s largest and tallest observation 

wheel. 

The residential offerings of the project will include 

high and low rise buildings, waterfront villas 

and houses. There will also be a wide selection 

of retail outlets, restaurants and cafes. The 

destination will also feature several hotels, one 

of which will offer an internal water station built 

under it providing direct access to its facility for 

guests coming by sea. 

The destination will also be home to ‘Dubai 

Lighthouse’, a unique architectural icon. Featuring 

a luxury hotel, the 135 metres high ‘Dubai 

Lighthouse’ will have an observation deck that 

offers 360 degree views. ‘Dubai Lighthouse’ will 

have a solid, smooth and unfettered façade that 

can be used as a gigantic screen for high resolution 

projections and light shows. 

‘Dubai Harbour’ will also offer a venue for events 

and exhibitions all year round with a special 

focus on maritime events. These will complement 

the existing calendar of events hosted by 

the Dubai International Marine Club. Adventure 

seekers can enjoy a range of activities offered 

by Skydive Dubai. 

The destination will also feature the largest 

shopping mall in the area, public services, a

Star Dust Awards hosted a string of A-list Bollywood stars looking glamorous and ready for the night’s epic 

performances and winnings. The red carpet saw a string of stars, each looking more fabulous than the 

last and one moment particularly caught our eye (and everyone else’s!) and that was none other than 

the moment Shah Rukh Khan joined the Bachchan family to pose for pictures! 

Shah Rukh was seen looking extremely suave in a deep black suit while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was 

positively glowing in a frosty, shimmering gown. Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan, of course look dapper as
