NAVY CITATION<br />

(25) The University <strong>of</strong> Illinois has received from the United States Navy Department<br />

a bronze tablet commending the University for service in the training<br />

<strong>of</strong> naval personnel in World War II. The tablet was presented at a public ceremony<br />

by the Commander <strong>of</strong> the Ninth Naval District representing the Navy<br />

Department.<br />

AMERICAN UNIVERSITY AT CAIRO CITATION<br />

(26) The University o£ Illinois has received from the Council <strong>of</strong> the American<br />

University at Cairo, Egypt, a formal citation for the services <strong>of</strong> Dr. Fred C.<br />

Hood, Assistant High School Visitor with rank <strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essor. He was given a<br />

leave <strong>of</strong> absence to serve as Visiting Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Education at the American<br />

University during the year 1946-1947. The University accepted in exchange the<br />

services <strong>of</strong> Dr. Amir Boktor as Pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Education during the year. The<br />

Office <strong>of</strong> the University <strong>of</strong> Illinois in the person <strong>of</strong> Dr. Fred C. Hood, who was<br />

visiting pr<strong>of</strong>essor <strong>of</strong> Education during the school year 1946-1947. Dr. Hood contributed<br />
