There is a shortage of fresh water in the world: 2.6% is fresh water and only 0.3% of the total amount of water available can
be used. Water contamination and inadequate treatment affect the availability and quality of drinking water in various regions.
In many countries, drinking water can often not be supplied at a high enough quality, even using central treatment systems.
Even today, many regions often have no mains water supply and rely on well water. In order to obtain drinking water, brackish
