Assistance ranges from financial help with rent or utilities, food, furniture, clothing and household goods to 

providing job counseling services and job leads. In addition, CAM provides school supplies, holiday meals,

Population: The Spring Branch target area is largely minority, the low-income area dominated by Hispanics 

who speak Spanish as their first language. The population is young, with a significant number of racial and 

ethnic minorities and economic disparities. Nearly half of the Hispanic population is recent immigrants and 

over half of the community is at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Additionally, the target 

population suffers disproportionately from obesity, diabetes, asthma, high rates of unintentional injuries and 

teen pregnancy.
