Patients find leading-edge treatment options at<br />

the <strong>Neurological</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>, where we continue to<br />

advance such innovations as deep brain stimulation,<br />

laser interstitial thermal therapy for brain tumors,<br />

epilepsy surgery, stereotactic spine radiosurgery,<br />

endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms and<br />

vascular malformations, and neuroendoscopy. Joint<br />

Commission certification as a Primary Stroke Center<br />

and accreditation by the American Academy of Sleep<br />

Medicine are just two reflections of our commitment<br />

to provide the most advanced, highest-quality care<br />

to our patients.<br />

Relevant Research<br />

We conduct research directly related to conditions<br />

experienced by our patients, including translational<br />

research and clinical trials of drug and device interventions.<br />

In 2010, 219 clinical research projects<br />

involving almost 2,500 patients were under way in<br />

the <strong>Neurological</strong> <strong>Institute</strong>. <strong>Neurological</strong>ly based<br />

research grants and contract awards totaled nearly<br />
