Center of it All
Flowers will always spark more oohs and aahs than anything in your
wedding decor. And with so many wonderful options and ways in
which to incorporate them, well, they're kind of a big deal!
And there are great ways in which you can incorporate flowers
while still saving precious money too! That being said, we would
highly recommend hiring a quality florist to provide at the very least,
the bridal bouquet and the reception centerpieces. You can also then
work with your florist to get some loose flowers for accent decor. We
talked in our last issue too about using your more expensive flowers
in the bouquets and centerpieces while using the less expensive
flowers in your accent floral decor. Also consider the season you are
getting married in to determine flower availability; readily available
and "in-season" equals less expensive!
Explore the world of alternatives too. Consider hand-crafted paper
flowers/arrangements; they can be absolutely gorgeous and you'll
have the bonus of being able to use them beyond your wedding
day. Additional decor can be used with flowers to enhance the mood
and atmosphere: candles (be sure to check with the venue on what
is allowed), lanterns, and bird cages can all be used with or without
flowers!
