The competition is funded by a charitable trust<br />
established by Anna Storch Johansen, who wanted<br />
to encourage young musicians with a significant<br />
cash prize at a time when they need it most. With a<br />
total of $67,000 in prizes, there are equal prizes for<br />
each instrument.<br />

ELIGIBILITY<br />
The competition is open to students of violin, viola,<br />
or cello, who are not younger than 13 or older<br />
than 17 on March 17, 2018, and are not under<br />
professional management. A copy of the applicant’s<br />
birth certificate or passport is required as proof<br />
of age.<br />
