Our first meeting of 2016 will take place on Tuesday
12 January at 7.30pm in the Masonic Hall on Collier
Street. Our speaker that night will be Douglas
Breingan talking about the Isle of Lismore.
In November, St Paul’s Church Anchor Boys made a
visit to the Museum to see our display on WW1 and
learned a bit about it for a project they are doing.
This information was ably provided by two of our
volunteers Stewart Michie and Bill Speirs.
Our December meeting was well attended and
Jennifer Giles gave us a very interesting talk about
the National Library of Scotland and the amazing
collection they hold.
The museum continues to open Wednesday, Friday
and Saturday from 10.30am till 4pm. We still
have Johnstone Calendars available at the very
reasonable price of £7, these are also available
online at johnstonehistory.org
Slimming World
Stephanie & Joanne met at their local
slimming world group and between them
have lost over 5 stone. They were so
amazed by the healthy eating plan and
decided to become consultants to inspire
others.
They launched their groups in early spring
and have helped members lose the
equivalent of 2 adult elephants. Following
on from their success, Stephanie is
re-launching a 2nd group on Tuesday
29th December @ Houston village Hall,
9:30am or 11:30am. Joanne is opening
a new group on Wednesday 6th January
@ Port Glasgow Town Hall, 7:30pm.
Marjorie, in her 3 groups that cover
Johnstone and the surrounding area
helps over 200 people every week to fulfil
their weight loss dreams.
Kirsty has gone from strength to
strength since opening her new group in
Kilmalcolm. Her members have lost over
136 stone in 4 months and many have
reported associated health benefits.
We are all very much looking forward to
welcoming more members in the new
year be they old friends or new. Happy
New Year everyone!
Receive a Personal Service from
Inverclyde’s New Estate Agents
With an improving housing market and growing demand for selling and letting
services, Inverclyde now have a new Estate Agent to consider.
Hames Estates, based in the heart of Kilmacolm, have a simple mission after
recently opening their doors for business: Improve the home buying and letting
experience.
With over a decade in the industry, Director Joe McKenzie has seen all too
often the stress and fatigue home buying and letting can cause. Joe explains:
“I founded Hames Estates with goal of improving the services I have seen and
experienced before. I believe having a personal relationship with your Estate
Agent, who can be reached when you need them and keeps you suitably up-todate,
is a step in the direction of improving the buying and letting experience”.
Joe continues, “Honesty, transparency and hard work should not be too much
to ask for”.
With their quirky name, Hames Estates are located in St James Terrace in
Kilmacolm and provide collective residential property sales & lettings expertise
to ensure vendors and landlords enjoy a profitable and hassle-free experience.
