Here at the JCC, we offer your child consistent opportunities for exploration, learning and discovery, starting from infancy all the way through to pre-K. We understand the importance of establishing a connection between caregiver and parents. Therefore, we encourage parent involvement and open communication. Our warm, nurturing staff is dedicated to the safety and well-being of your child, while enjoying every minute of the day and making memories with your child that will last a lifetime. Program Hours Monday–Friday 7 am – 6 pm /ecdpjccsyr The JCC’s Jerome and Phyllis Charney Early Childhood Development Program (ECDP) is the area’s leading comprehensive childcare facility and preschool, serving infants six weeks old through pre-K children five-years old. HOW TO REGISTER Some openings are available if you wish to enroll your child for the current school year which runs through June. A JCC of Syracuse family membership (fitness or non-fitness) is required. For more information and to schedule a tour, please contact the Early Childhood Director at 315-445-2040, ext. 123. Fall 2017 Registration Open enrollment for the 2017-2018 school year is happening now! To register your child for the upcoming school year, your completed enrollment paperwork along with the $25 registration fee must be submitted. In May you will receive some additional forms to complete. For more information about fall enrollment and to schedule a tour, please call 315-445-2040, ext. 123. Withdrawals, changes Enrollment in ECDP is a commitment to our 10-month school year which consists of three sessions: September–November, December–February and March–June. Any program withdrawals or enrollment changes must be made 30 days before the start of a session. ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES Once again this spring we will offer some popular enrichment classes for children ages three through five. Your child is sure to enjoy all of the hands-on fun that these classes have to offer! Classes are open to both JCC members and to the public. See the listing of classes on page 7. ONGOING FUNDRAISERS We continue to participate in the following ongoing fundraisers which help support our programming. Bottle and Can Drive Thank you to all who have donated their five-cent deposit bottles and cans in support of our program! To donate to our bottle and can drive, simply drop off your returnable beverage containers directly to F-M Returnables at 202 West Seneca St. (Route 173) in Manlius, near Smith’s Plaza. Just tell them that the returnables are for the JCC’s ECDP program, account #21, and the money will go directly to our program. Once again, thank you! Wall of Hands Your child can become a permanent part of our program’s history! ECDP families can preserve their child’s handprint on our Wall of Hands for years to come. An initial handprint is $36 and $18 for each successive year. Each colorful, 6’’x 6’’ tile is personalized, dated and mounted on the ECDP entrance wall. Summer Camp begins Kids Yoga Spring enrichment classes Classes are open to both JCC members and non-members. Pre-registration is required and classes are subject to minimum enrollment. Registration fee will be returned if minimum class enrollment is not met prior to the start date. To enroll, please use the registration form on page 15. Bricks 4 Kidz Age: 4–5 Day: Thursdays Dates: March 2, 9, 16, 23 Time: 1–1:45 pm Fee: $55 members, $60 non-members Taught by: Bricks 4 Kidz CNY This is a great class for children to practice fine motor skills, pattern recognition and more. Your child will build a different LEGO animal each class while taking a virtual trip to the zoo! We’ll build a camel, elephant, giraffe and kangaroo using LEGO Duplo bricks. Each class will start with circle time and a book about the animal that will be built. Following the animal build, there will be some creative LEGO play time and crafts. Age: 3–5 Day: Wednesdays Dates: March 8, 15, 22, 29 Time: 1:15–2 p.m. Fee: $35 members, $40 non-members Taught by: Bridgett Langstaff This class helps kids build concentration, strength, flexibility, self-control and balance. Children will embark on a calming journey and begin to understand mindfulness and finding contentment in everyday life. JCC CAMP RISHON 2017 Summer Camp registration Summer Camp dates: June 26 – August 18 Early Childhood Camps For ages 6 weeks – 5 years. Full- and part-time sessions available.
