C.E.F.A.A. President’s letter December 1982
The President’s New Year letter 2015 was lost in a computer
accident, but I have recently found a copy of an earlier letter sent
to me by Naomi. This is just a small part of the original letter,
but to me it shows that the title of our magazine is very
appropriate.
The flowers we place in the church each week are a part of the sacramental
life of the parish church. They touch people at those deep levels of the subconscious.
They speak to the individual through his or her senses. They add
colour to the sacramental part of the life of faith. Such importance must mean
that the colours we choose and the arrangements we make must be matters
that we have thought and prayed through, for they form an integral part of
the church’s offering of itself in the parish worship. I have noted with much
interest the way that this theme comes to the fore in the activities of the Flower
Arrangers Association. Often today it is the ministry of encouragement that
we so much need, that ministry that affirms what we are doing and inspires
us to deepen our commitment. In the work of the Flower Arrangers
Association we help the sacramental life of our parish church to develop
richly, and that is, I believe an important ministry of encouragement.
With every blessing for your wonderful work.
