The first
educational goal I
achieved was earning a
four year degree in
Business Education in
1982 at Virginia State
University in Ettrick,
Virginia outside of my
native home of
Richmond and
Petersburg, Virginia.
The above degree
opened the first door for
me to work as a business
teacher in Jefferson
County, WV for 34 years.
I have always intended
to go beyond the
positions of my own
basic position, and to
incorporate into my
experience a number of
supplemental roles in
addition to the duties of
a full-time business
teacher. I have made
myself available for
handling a variety of
other duties.
On the lighter,
extracurricular side, I
can make mention of
being a cheerleading
coach, a sophomore
class advisor
and a club sponsor for
the creation of JHS
Grooming for Success
Club to service most the
school’s
student body.
On the professional
side, besides serving as
a curriculum specialist
who created the
curriculum for In School
Suspension (I.S.S) for
student’s behavior
problems afforded me a
paid stipend of $500.00.
The name of the above
discipline program has
changed to Modified
Instructional Program
(M.I.P).
I have had the
responsibility of being
the JHS Business
Department Head or
Lead Teacher for at least
ten years, a coach to less
experienced business
student teachers who
were trained on how to
prepare professional
lesson plans, and a
coordinator of the JHS
Business Partnership
Program after it had
been allowed to lapse
for a number of years.
I am a self-publisher of a
sci-fi novel She’ra
published in 2010 with
Xlibris0VCQA.com and I
have completed the
second saga “She’ra II
Dangerous Secrets” to
be published
