UPDATE

We’ve come a long way since the Carleton-
Victoria Longbeards - CWTF’s establishing
chapter - held their first banquet on June 7th,
2014 in Perth Andover New Brunswick at the
Hanscome Adventure Outdoors lodge. The best
artists in the world couldn’t have painted a more
beautiful setting for such an important day nor
could we have been blessed with more gracious
hosts than Ralf and Nancy Hanscome. If that
wasn’t enough, add an amazing meal prepared
by Chef Charlene and the welcoming of our first
members who quickly became friends and family
to all, making this day what I would call “a most
perfect event”.
The ground had been broken and the seed
was planted for the “New Face of Conservation in
Canada”, the Canadian Wild Turkey Federation.
From there we continued with two more
chapters in our first year, the Moncton Codiac
Longbeards and the Truro Struttin Gobblers
from Nova Scotia. We certainly couldn’t have
made it to year two without the hard work and
dedication of these three founding chapters.
2015 saw the addition of six more chapters to
the family, one newly established chapter in
Belleville Ontario and five former NWTF chapters
coming back to the flock under the new wings of
the CWTF. In 2016 our growth continued with an
additional five new chapters, one in Quebec, two
in Manitoba, one more in Ontario and another in
New Brunswick.
To all the committees, volunteers, members
and sponsors, we couldn’t have done it without
your hard work, dedication and generosity.
You are the CWTF. You are the New Face of Conservation in Canada.
