The Jiu-Jitsu community made
another show of strength on
February 10-11, in the UAE.
Close to 500 athletes gathered
for the Sharjah International Pro
in search of valuable points in the
UAEJJF ranking. Competitors of
all ages took on to the mats for
a lively display of technique and
drive to win. In the adult black
belt division, champions were:
Tiago Bravo (77kg), Marcos Costa
(85kg), Mauricio Lima (110kg).
Among women, Tamires Vieira beat
Jessica Silva for the 90kg brown/
black belt division. In the teams
competition, results were: 1st -
Commando Group BJJ (1740pts),
2nd – Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club
(1480pts), 3rd – Al Wada Jiu-Jitsu
Club (891pts), 4th – Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu
Club (790pts), Team Nogueira
Dubai (740pts), UAEJJ Team – Abu
Dhabi Training Center (515pts).

More than 400 competitors took on the mats
on January 27-28 for two days of both Gi and
No-Gi matches. The event was a clear display
of how strong Jiu-Jitsu is at this time in the
UAE. The gentle art community gathered to
display a lot of heart and high level skills. In
the teams competition, results were: 1st - Al
Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club (156pts), 2nd - Commando
Group BJJ (123pts), 3rd - Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club
(102pts), 4th - Land Forces Team (91pts), 5th
- Al Wahda Club Ji-Jitsu Academy (83pts), 6th -
Al Nasr Jiu-Jitsu Academy (56pts).
