NATURE PROGRAMS FOR PRESCHOOL-AGED CHILDREN<br />

SATURDAYS IN NATURE<br />

This program is held on<br />

the second Saturday of<br />

each month at the Edith L.<br />

Moore Nature Sanctuary.<br />

Arrive anytime between<br />

9 and 11:30 AM. The program<br />

ends at 12 noon. A<br />

guided nature walk will<br />

begin at 10 AM. No reservations<br />

required. Donations<br />

are encouraged.<br />

This is a “whole family”<br />

program; parents or other<br />

adult guardians should<br />

participate with their children.<br />

include <strong>March</strong> program on Wildflower Walk(Cone Seed Starter).<br />

THE TITMOUSE CLUB<br />

The Titmouse Club is a nature program for children ages 2 ½ to 5<br />

sponsored by the Houston Audubon Docent Guild. The program is<br />

offered every Tuesday and Wednesday morning, 10 to 11 AM, from<br />

mid-September until mid-May at the Edith L. Moore Nature Sanctuary,<br />

440 Wilchester Boulevard. Each week features a different nature<br />

theme and may include nature talks, stories, hands-on activities and<br />

walks in the woods. For more information, go to www.houstonaudubon.org<br />

and look under Audubon Docents. The cost is $5 per child<br />

per session or a 5-session card can be purchased for $20. The child<br />

must be accompanied by an adult during the program. Upcoming<br />

AFTER SCHOOL NATURE EXPLORERS CLUB<br />

Nature Explorers Club is designed for school-age children (ages 6-10,<br />

K-5th) who are interested in investigating the natural world. Each<br />

month we will explore a different ecology topic, focusing on our own<br />

native plants and animals. We will make a craft to take home, go on<br />

a nature hike, dip-net for fish and tadpoles in the ponds and get to<br />

know the plants and animals of the Bayou City! Fee/reservations are<br />

required. Reserve your child’s spot at www.houstonaudubon.org. For<br />

The <strong>2017</strong> NCAA Men’s Division I Basketball<br />

Tournament will involve 68 teams playing<br />

in a single-elimination tournament to<br />

determine the national champion of<br />

men’s NCAA Division I college basketball. It is scheduled to begin on <strong>March</strong><br />

14, <strong>2017</strong>, and will conclude with the championship game on April 3 at<br />

University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The championship<br />

game will be the first contested in a Western state since 1995 when Seattle,<br />

Washington was the host of the Final Four for that year.<br />
