At the end of every girls basketball season, 22nd Century Media scours through stories, stat sheets and
reporters’ notebooks to compile its Team 22 All-Star lineup. The team features student-athletes from
Lincoln-Way Central, LW East, LW West, Providence Catholic, Andrew, Tinley Park, Lockport Township and
Sandburg high schools.
Forwards
F: Courteney Barnes, senior, LW
Central
10.1 PPG, 7.4 RPG. Heading to Hope
College.
F: Abi Baumgartner, sophomore, LW
Central
9.8 PPG, 6.5 RPG. Surprise standout.
Courtney O’Donnell, senior, LW West
13.5 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 1.2 APG. Both a
scoring and rebounding threat, despite
giving up a few inches down low, the fouryear
starter shot 50 percent in terms of
field goals, 67 percent at the charity stripe.
Ryann Ogarek, sophomore, Providence
16.5 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 1.4 SPG, 1 BPG. The
5-foot-10 forward was the Celtics’ leading
scorer and rebounder, playing more like
a seasoned veteran than a sophomore,
absolutely dominating on offense.
Burns phoTography
Lauren Hunter, junior, LW East
11.9 PPG, 6.4 RPG. She led her team in
scoring average, led the team with 167
rebounds, and earned MVP of the Medieval
tournament and All-Tournament honors at
the DeKalb MLK tournament.
F: Taylor Hopkins, junior, Lockport
13 PPG. Versatile shooter, great in
clutch.
G: Carolyn Waleski, junior, LW East
11.4 PPG, 4 APG, 3.4 SPG. Led team
in scoring.
G: Taylor Gugliuzza, freshman, LW
West
11.3 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 3.5 APG, 2.6 SPG.
A natural.
Guards
Honorable mentions:
Emily Atsinger, senior, LW West
10.8 PPG, 3 RPG, 3.3 APG, 2.4 SPG.
The Lake Michigan College commit was
a catalyst for the Warriors’ offense.
Everything seemed to run through the fouryear
starter, despite her battle with injuries.
Claire Paciga, senior, Providence
10.5 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 3.5 APG, 2 SPG. An
all-around captain who did just about
everything for her team. While Ryann
Ogarek put up the big scoring numbers,
Paciga was the team’s driving force.
