• The gift shop at Mary Queen and Mother Center is looking for<br />
volunteers <strong>to</strong> work a 4 hour shift on the first, second or fourth<br />
Saturday of the month, the first Sunday of the month, and every<br />
Monday.<br />
• Pas<strong>to</strong>ral Care at Mary Queen and Mother Center needs volunteers<br />
<strong>to</strong> help transport residents <strong>to</strong> and from chapel for Rosary<br />
and Mass daily from 9:30 <strong>to</strong> 11 a.m. (except Wednesdays) and is<br />
also looking for a volunteer organist who could play during Mass<br />
on the weekend (Saturday and Sunday)<br />
• St. William Apartments in Dardenne Prairie would LOVE <strong>to</strong><br />
have a small group of volunteers <strong>to</strong> help with some grounds<br />
cleanup and gardening this fall.<br />
• Mother of Perpetual Help and DuBourg House could both use<br />
volunteers <strong>to</strong> play card games (bridge, cribbage, poker, rummy,<br />
etc.) with residents, as well as volunteers that would like <strong>to</strong><br />

socialize and do current event updates from the newspaper or<br />
internet. The ideal volunteer is someone who is familiar with the<br />
assisted living environment, is very reliable and feels comfortable<br />
working independently with the residents.<br />
• DuBourg House would also like <strong>to</strong> find a volunteer that would<br />
be interested in leading light exercise classes with the residents.<br />
• Our Independent Living Apartments are searching for an empathetic<br />
volunteer <strong>to</strong> lead a gentle therapeutic exercise and movement<br />
program that helps <strong>to</strong> increase flexibility, range of motion and<br />
balance. Great music, lots of fun working with senior adults. The<br />
right volunteer will be available for three-days training for certification<br />
in February. He/she will work with an experienced instruc<strong>to</strong>r<br />
<strong>to</strong> lead sessions for two groups of ten <strong>to</strong> twenty senior adults. Each<br />
group (one beginning in January 2012 the second group in March)<br />
meets twice weekly for 18 weeks (<strong>to</strong>tal 36 sessions). Medical background<br />
is advantageous, but not a requirement.<br />

Young Friends of CRSS<br />
Several Young Friends volunteers<br />
gathered at DuBourg House for another<br />
happy hour/game night with the<br />
residents earlier this summer. A great<br />
time was had by all and the residents<br />
can’t wait for the group <strong>to</strong> come back!<br />
