1 HD and SD clips and graphical assets are ingested 2 3
onto the Xmedia Server for archiving, or directly into
Xstation in smaller systems. Assets can be managed
using rule-based publishing to ensure that the assets
are sent to the correct HD and SD channels. Assets
can also be controlled manually, using Xplorer.
HD and SD graphics objects are imported into the
Xstudio template authoring application for creating
HD and SD ´smart´ templates. Xstudio allows rapid
creation of independent graphics templates for
HD and SD channels, which address the different
characteristics of the HD and SD formats. For instance,
the 16:9 HD templates may involve more text and
more elaborate graphics than 4:3 SD templates.
Page generation
HD and SD pages can be pre-prepared semi-
automatically, using an export from the traffic or
scheduling system. Pages can also be populated
fully automatically at air time by directly reading
and delivering data from the traffic and scheduling
system (see page 18).
HD and SD channel playout
Xstation plays out HD and SD clips to deliver two
specialty channels, each with independent, multi-
layer graphics.
