Management of clan committees.
20. Land committees for managing land under customary tenure
LANGO CULTURAL FOUNDATION
a) Clan committees are those at the levels of clan sub-parish, clan
sub-county, clan county clan, sub clan of Lango and under Lango
Cultural Foundation.
b) The leaders or clan heads of these committees are called Won Paco
for sub parish, Jago for sub County, Rwot for County, Awitong for
sub clan and Won Nyaci for Lango region.
c) All committees and the leaders are responsible for the affairs of their
clans and not only for land matters.
d) Members of the committees of the clan sub-parish, and clan sub
county levels shall be elected by universal adult suffrage of their clan
members.
e) Members of the clan sub county and sub clans shall be elected by
electoral colleges from elected office bearers.
f) Members of the committee of Lango Cultural Foundation and Won
Nyaci will be elected according to the constitution of Lango Cultural
Foundation.
g) Clan committees shall be body corporate and may sue and be
sued.
21. Membership of the clan committees.
a) The clan committees shall consist of (9) members comprising of
a Chairperson; Vice chairperson; Secretary; Treasurer; Officer
responsible for compensation; Women representative; Youth
representative; Chief for land affairs; Officer for Security.
b) The office for vice chairperson, treasurer and women representative
must be reserved and filled by women.
22. Election of clan sub-parish committee.
a) The sub-parish committee is the lowest committee in the structure.
b) The sub-parish chief shall be the chairperson of this committee and
responsible for the election of the members.
c) For the election of vice chairperson, the sub parish chief shall
organize clan members above 18 years in the area of his jurisdiction
to meet in a convenient place of his choice for election of the nine
