A CRASH OF RHINOS EXHIBITION CAPTURES IMAGINATION<br />

The City of Wanneroo, in<br />

conjunction with the State<br />

Library of Western Australia,<br />

will exhibit the work from highly<br />

acclaimed children’s author/<br />

illustrator Patricia Mullins.<br />

A Crash of Rhinos was<br />

published in 2010 and won the<br />

Notable Book (Picture Book of<br />

the Year) CBCA Awards in 2011.<br />

There will be a variety of activities<br />

to support this exhibition<br />

including self-guided tours, art<br />

activities and school holiday art<br />

WITHOUT CONSENT: AUSTRALIA’S PAST ADOPTION PRACTICES<br />

Without Consent: Australia’s<br />

past adoption practices is a<br />

new exhibition bringing to light<br />

a previously hidden aspect of<br />

Australia’s past.<br />

It is estimated that at least 150,000<br />

adoptions took place from the 1950s<br />

to 1970s - a significant number of<br />

which were forced. This exhibition<br />

has offered those affected the<br />

opportunity to share their stories.<br />

ACTING UP WITH<br />

SHANTA SURENDRAN<br />

Shanta is an actor, screen acting<br />

instructor, professional presenter<br />

and voice over artist.<br />

She is the Head of Screen Acting<br />

at Filmbites Youth Film School<br />

and appeared in short films,<br />

commercials, TV series and<br />

documentaries.<br />
