An odd looking fellow that seemed to be dressed as a Leprechaun<br />
approached our group and in an English accent<br />
asked if someone could spare a fag. I told him to get lost<br />
and an hour later he was on stage playing the saxaphone.<br />
I was dumbfounded in addition to being just dumb! The<br />
show was freaking amazing and remains my number one<br />
concert experience to date. I would see The Floyd many<br />
times after and the shows got bigger and more technically<br />
advanced but that first one...Wow. Coming in at a close<br />
second would be Queen on the Sheer Heart Attack tour<br />
with Mahogany Rush and Kansas. Freddie Mercury was<br />
one of the greatest front men in rock history and that show<br />
was epic in every way. I never did get to see Zeppelin but<br />
partied like a son of a bitch outside while listening to them<br />
play live.<br />
‘Sold out’ are dirty words! As I read almost daily about the<br />
passing of my rock and roll heroes I look back on those<br />
days when the world seemed like a young and shiny place,<br />
and the future held endless promise along with tons of new<br />
black vinyl albums to buy at the local record store. What<br />
was cooler than removing the celophane off a new album<br />
and discovering some stickers or a poster in addition to<br />
some great music? When I remember that I am reminded...<br />
