Junior Lifeguarding
This program is designed for those children ages 11-14 who are looking to do more in the area of aquatics. This is an
introduction to lifeguarding program for children who are interested in becoming a certified lifeguard one day. The class
helps students to develop a deeper appreciation of the water and build a stronger foundation of aquatic and leadership
skills and knowledge for a future career in lifeguarding. Skill presentation will include first aid, CPR and AED, safety and
basic rescues and swimming endurance. This course does not certify students to be lifeguards, but it acts as a stepping
stone for those who are not yet old enough to take certifying lifeguarding courses.
The class will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon-1 PM at the Civic Center Pool from June 13 to July 27.
Additional on-deck opportunities will be available to students during the month of August. The cost of participation is
