Prayer Meeting
Prayer Meeting will be held this Wednesday evening, April 5. You will not want to
miss this upcoming week’s Prayer Meeting as the Oakwood University Senior Class
will be leading out. Please plan to be in attendance as this will be the first Prayer
Meeting Worship Experience post our Spring Evangelistic Revival. Let’s keep the
revival fires burning! All are encouraged to attend. We look forward to seeing you.
Stewardship Corner
She was a desperate woman - sick with an incurable disease. Jesus turned around and
asked, “Who touched me?” The disciples pointed out in amazement that everyone
near Jesus had been constantly jostling against Him. But Jesus knew her touch had
been filled with a special hope and a desperate faith. It was faith that Jesus honored,
even before the woman’s act became public. There are people all around us who are
like this woman. Perhaps you know yourself to be one of them. Today as you give
your Tithe and Combined Budget Offering, you are truly opening the way for people
to be transformed. But you may never even know about it until the day God makes
all things plain. Let us give with glad, liberal hearts, knowing that He will take what
we give and apply it wisely to the lives of distressed people all around us.
Oakwood Adventist Academy (OAA) Building Project
Please be mindful of our financial commitment to the OAA Building Project. Given
our church obligation of $3,000,000.00, the OUC makes a monthly payment to satisfy
this commitment. Let us all support this collective responsibility through our
systematic financial support, which is in addition to our normal Tithe and Combined
Budget Offering. All donations, large or small, are sincerely appreciated. Kindly
mark on your offering envelope, “OAA Building Fund.”
“Restoration 40” - Construction of Family Life Center
Everyone is kindly asked to reach a minimum goal of $1,000.00 per person for our
Family Life Center Building Project. This can be done through a one time gift,
systematic monthly gifts, or the solicitation of donations from family members,
friends, neighbors, co-workers, and businesses (in addition to your normal Tithe and
Combined Budget Offering). If you have reached your $1,000.00 goal, please feel
free to give additional funds. Donations can be made via your offering envelope and
labeled, “Restoration 40.” Thank you very much for your support.
Oakwood Adventist Academy (OAA) - Academy Day
OAA “Academy Day” will take place Sunday, April 23, at 9:00 am. On this day,
OAA will be showcased to the community and prospective students. All students
entering any grade from K to 12 are invited to attend and preview OAA! Lunch will
be served for visitors. For more information, please visit www.oa.oakwood.edu.
Welcome
On behalf of the Pastoral Staff, Officers, and Members of the Oakwood University Church
(OUC), we would like to extend a special welcome today to all of our visiting friends. We
hope you enjoy your worship experience with us, and please come again. Sabbath Dinner
will be served immediately following the Divine Worship Experience today by our Fish
and Loaves Ministry for all visitors, newly baptized members, university students with
limited and/or no cafeteria meal plan, and our church members.
2017 Spring Revival and Vacation Bible School (VBS)
Our 2017 Spring Revival will culminate today, April 1, with baptism! Praise the Lord!
Thank you for your prayers, attendance, and support to our revival. Our VBS Closing
Program will be held today beginning at 6:00 pm. Please return this evening as we
support our children and what they’ve experienced during the Spring Revival.
Special Worship Experience - Dorinda Clark Cole
Please be present next Sabbath, April 8, at 11:00 am for a special worship experience
featuring the music ministry of guest psalmist, Dorinda Clark Cole, of the renowned
“Clark Sisters.” Please plan to be in attendance and kindly invite your family, friends,
neighbors, and loved ones to join us. Dr. Carlton P. Byrd will be the speaker.
Cooking Class
You will not want to miss the opportunity to engage in preparing delicious vegetarian
cuisine on Sunday, April 9, from 1:30 to 3:30 pm in the OU Science Complex, Nutrition
Lab, Room #512. Dr. Jocelyn Peterson will be the presenter. To register, please contact
