R E P O R T S GooseBumps by Esme In S6 we have been listening to a story for the past few weeks. Lots of people in S6 like the story, The story is called "Goosebumps -Why I'm afraid of bees!" I rate the book 9.5 out of 10. The story is about a kid called Gary who never gets picked in anything like cricket etc, He always gets bullied and he tries to impress girls, One day he is turned into a bee. The story is about what happens when he is a bee! Art by Sanaa and Anuksa This term we mostly did art with Mrs. Thompson, well she has some interesting choices such as making silhouettes and doing fruit pop art. That type of pop art was the one where you use dots instead of colouring. Last but not least, we drew marine animals in their habitat and we coloured it in with oil pastels. We also did a little bit of art with Ms. Todd, her art was pretty unique and really random, which turned out wonderful. We interviewed Mrs. Thomson and she gave some interesting answers. Don't worry we haven't forgotten about Mr. Chalmers - we kind of did art with him because we made posters which turned out to be amazing. Me and my buddy aren't that good at art but we still like it because it's fun. MaranuiFM by Orson and Angus Maranuifm is a self-run radio station, run by Lyall Bay School. We have two mikes and a bunch of songs /music. 4500 songs to be exact. Every hour we have an advert called the hour marker where someone says Maranuifm 106.7. We have a bunch of interviewers, announcers, publicity people, and advertisers and website writers. if you want to see crew you go to www.maranuifm.co.nz S6 | 7 .
R E P O R T S Class Treaty by Sophie In S6 we have a class treaty. We had some ideas to make our class better. We all agreed to follow the class treaty and signed our names. We got the idea from the Treaty of Waitangi. Some of the things we came up with are - . Respect people and their property . Stand up for ourselves and others . Don’t be afraid to make mistakes . Be kind to the environment. When we made it the steps were – as a class we chose 19 ideas that we thought could make our class better. Next we all wrote what we thought they all meant and discussed it with a buddy. We then agreed to follow it and signed our names. Chromebooks by Aidan This year we got some new chrome books. Each class got nine and S6 got ten. There were fifty five chrome books. We (S6) had to set up every one! To set one up it took between thirty minutes and one hour. The good parts about chrome books are they are light and easy to store. They also have lots of charge. Buddy Reading by Sophie On Thursday we have buddy reading with M3. We either go down to the middles or they come to our class. We choose our buddy and some books to read the we find a place to sit and read. Sometimes we share work we've done and how to use stuff on the computers. Next term we will be teaching them other things. . S6 | 8
