Zof takes Silver
Zofia Malewicz won Silver at the ISKA European
Kickboxing Championships in Venice, Italy last
week. Head of Sixth Form and FSK’s Zofia Malewicz
was fighting at the ISKA European Kickboxing
Championships. Zofia fought outside of her age
category and came through to the final, where she
was up against a fellow team-mate who was 18 years
her junior.
The Final of the Ladies +63kg category was a close
fight with many of the squad thinking Zofia had just
won. The final outcome was a split decision with the
judges ruling in favour of Miss Malewicz and Zofia
took the silver!
On the 13th November some of Battle Abbey School
kickboxers will be competing in the FSK inter club
tournament in Heathfield where we hope they will
bring home some medals too.
If you would like to take up kickboxing just come
along to one of the Battle Abbey Clubs at Prep school
and Senior school. No experience necessary and you
can join at any time.

The booklet will be sent home

run child in September, by and in addition to picking up her finishers medal, also managed
to finish first in the 9 year old category. The race, part of the larger 10k
Bexhill race in support of various local charities took place on Bexhill sea front
on the 25th September in rather unseasonably warm weather.
Freya said, ‘It was great to get my finishers medal at the time, it was only this
week when a parcel arrived at home for me with the first place medal for the
9 year old category in. I ran the race all by myself but my Dad and Mr Baker
from the Battle Abbey School pool were doing the bigger 10k race, and were
cheering me on on the way round.’
