The Annual Investment Meeting
is a premier event focusing
on foreign direct investment
(FDI) in emerging markets. In
its seventh year, it is an initiative of the
UAE Ministry of Economy, held under
the patronage of His Highness Sheikh
Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and
Ruler of Dubai.
The next edition of the Annual
Investment Meeting will be held on
April 2-4, 2017 at the Dubai World
Trade Centre. The theme for this year
is ‘International Investment, Path to
Competitiveness & Development,’
which will deliberate on how to attract
the right kind of foreign investment
that contributes positively to the
competitiveness of national economies
and inclusive growth.
Since its inception in 2011, AIM
has witnessed significant Indian
participation. In the last edition, Mr
Dharmendra Pradhan, the Indian
Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum and
Natural Gas led a 25-member delegation
from sectors like infrastructure,
agriculture and food processing and
information technology.
Apart from this, the event also
featured a “Make in India” pavilion. Mr
Kalraj Mishra, Indian Minister for Micro,
Small and Medium Enterprises also
participated in the 2nd Economic and
Business Conference of the Indian Ocean
