Annual Investment Meeting The seventh edition of the Annual Investment Meeting being held at the Dubai World Trade Centre between April 2 and 4, will see participation from political and business leaders from around the globe The Annual Investment Meeting, being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, will be held between April 2 and 4 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. It is an initiative of the UAE Ministry of Economy and is the region’s first emerging markets, FDI-focussed event to offer a perfect blend of trade fair and intellectual features. The premier event focuses on FDI in growing markets and is the leading global platform aimed at facilitating strategic networking and promoting investments, while providing a rich learning experience. The theme this year is: ‘International Investment, Path to Competitiveness & Development.’ Participants will discuss how to attract the right kind of international investment that will contribute to the competitiveness of national economies. The highlights include the investment conference and a prestigious exhibition. AIM Exhibition 2017 will feature different industry projects and services catering for the investment growth of various regions. In 2016, AIM attracted 432 exhibitors from 137 countries including India, China and Russia. This year, exhibitors will include the Dubai has been Global Financial Andhra Pradesh Economic Development Board and the Madhya Pradesh Trade & Investment Facilitation Corporation Ltd. Pre-conference workshops will be held on April 1 by the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA) and Wavteq Ltd. WAIPA, which was established in 1995 and has 170 members from 130 countries, provides the opportunity for investment promotion agencies to network and exchange best practices in investment promotion. “It is of great pride to collaborate with the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies in the organisation of AIM,” said Dawood Al Shezawi, head of organising committee, AIM. “Dubai has been ranked first regionally and 16th globally in the 2015 Global Financial Centres Index. The United Arab Emirates as the host of the Expo 2020 is attracting more attention and investments from around the world.” The much-awaited and mega investment meeting in Dubai promises to bring financiers, fund-seekers, entrepreneurs and industrialists and government leaders on a common platform to enable them to cooperate for the rapid expansion of economies. 4
